Absolutely stunning food.We booked a meal for 7 of us including 3 fussy Little eaters and left clean plates all round. The staff couldn't do anymore if they tried!

What a little discovery, menu, cooking, setting, atmosphere and to so importantly, the staff, professional, friendly happy to help, happy in their work and its so telling. Whoever is running and training them needs a huge compliment, so many restaurants miss this mark, even if the rest are great.Made for a great birthday meal, thank you all, we will definitely be back.

5 stars ⭐️Excellent food, excellent Service !We have been coming here for years and have told many people that it is the best restaurant in Essex. Finally it’s getting through. Thank you Sarah for your hospitality, a friend coming to this for what would of been his late wife pat’s 75th birthday. As usual you made home and his family feel extra special and I thank you dearly for that. You are all so lovely and the food is by far the best in Essex.

We live locally and have been many times over the last decade and we've never been disappointed by Ranfields or it's predecessor Baumanns. Everywhere else we've gone regularly has had an off day occasionally, but not here. Yes, perhaps a few percent more pricey than a gastro pub, but worth it every time to eat in a restaurant with great service, creative menus and decent portions too. Highly recommended.

We came for Sunday lunch and it was fabulous!! The quality of the food was superb, the chef is a culinary genius and the staff were attentive, thoughtful and made the experience a delight. The venue is quirky and warm and inviting but the food is the real wonder!Would head back in a heartbeat. Superb afternoon!

Absolutely fantastic meal. The beef fillet melted in the mouth and was delicious. The Eton Mess was divine and expertly presented. Wonderful service and special message to celebrate our anniversary. Will be back soon.

Good food although one of our party did find a hair in her food. Once we got the waitresses attention (it took a few minutes) she quickly organised a fresh dish to be brought out.Our waitress knew the menu and wine list inside out and was very helpful.Would have been five stars without the hair.We paid around £70 per head for three courses, lovely breads and a good number of drinks, we didn't overly splash out on wine though.I would have no issue recommending and will be back.

Had a very lovely meal here. The menu has a wide range of choice with a vegetarian menu too. Food was tasty, staff friendly, decor good.Revisited last night and the food was even better! The vegetarian menu is the best I've seen anywhere and probably too much choice if you're like me and can't make a decision! But we've said we'd go back for lunch to have the other options! They do a very reasonable fixed price menu available evenings and lunch which is worth checking out. The decor and ambiance is good and for a Thursday night most of the tables were full! We used a travel zoo voucher when we went but to be honest the fixed price menu looked just as good. Parking either right outside on the street or there's a village car park behind the houses opposite which is free.

Found this place thanks to our Gourmet society card. Had a great evening celebrating our anniversary here. The atmosphere and surroundings are lovely with wall to wall artwork. Attentive staff serve the very well presented, extremely tasty food. We will be back for more.
