Several of the food items my husband and I like the most are M&S only, so it's a good excuse to go shopping there. My granddaughters and I also enjoy a visit to the in-store cafe.

Visited Simply Food at Freeport Braintree to get our weeks shopping. All good, no problems. Decided to have a light lunch in the cafe. Ordered the standard bacon rolls, apparently the most popular item! No bacon ( in a supermarket??) so was offered sausage rolls instead. Also chose a Pepsi from the chiller. Was asked if I wanted a glass. Yes says I. Along came two very small sausage rolls, about 3 inches long but hey ho. Checked the bill once outside. £3.95 each for the sausage rolls. Total bill for 2 sausage rolls, 1 Pepsi and a biscuit…. £12 including £1 for the glass. Staff were great but embarrassed. Wandered over to Freeport and could have had two full English breakfasts for the same amount.

Coffee shop is busy, great to see, and for a reason. The staff are friendly and efficient and seem happy in their work. The food was hot, good band fairly priced. The restaurant surprisingly clean as only two staff.Only four stars because everything I went into the shop to buy wasn't in stock...

Always a joy to do your M&S food shop here. The shelves are always full with loads of fresh food and the staff always seem friendly, approachable and helpful. Certainly one of the best M&S food halls. I would highly recommend.

Good quality food at reasonable prices. Not as cheap as other food stores but you can taste the difference. The store is small so you do not get the large choice of variety's that you would at supermarkets but you should be able to find most items you require for a weekly shop. Some items are expensive and no better than anywhere else so you do have to be careful. The car park is very large and the store has level access. The staff are all very helpful. The store also has a small cafe/ restaurant but this is expensive for basic meals. There also is a toilet, again level access.

Great food shop. Is actually good value for money if you take advantage of the multi buy deals. Easy access. Large carpark opposite freeport shopping village. I shop in aldi sainsburys and Morrisons but you can't beat M+S sometimes!

Waste of time yet again, select an item, no haven't got the size required yet again . It's just not worth the 40 mile drive, give up no more.M&S could make a killing with all these other stores closing they just can't get the basics right it's called stock control. .

Very good social distancing and covid controls in store with plenty of cleaning products available for hand and trolley cleaning. Lovely friendly staff and of course excellent M&S products.

Well as usual range was good and I purchased all items I had on the list. However I couldn't browse as the store was freezing cold and we cut short our shopping even wearing winter coats. The young man on the till was really cold also and only on his second shift !! (He was very pleasant and helpful.) I hope he brings a jacket on his next shift!!

I shop here every week becays I love the friendliness of the staff (greet us like friends). You cannot beat their quality of produce, only complaint is the dates on produce are not very long. I am very impressed with their efforts in reducing plastic in their packaging. Would highly recommend this store.
