Fabulous location overlooking the green. Good food, good service. Happy atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Food excellent, staff polite and helpful. Charming building, clean and well kept. Shame they do not have an accessible toilet. And the steps to the main entrance, can be prohibitive for those with mobility problems. Have been before and would go again.

Booked a table for 2.30pm, arrived early at 1pm and still got seated which we very much appreciate. The service was excellent and the food was also fantastic - one of the best pub roast dinners I have eaten. However, at the end of my meal I found a cooked caterpillar among the vegetables on my plate which I brought up to a member of staff and asked if there was anything that could be done on the bill. I only got a 10% discount (less than £5 off) and had I have found it earlier in the meal; I would have expected all of my food to be replaced. We swallowed the gesture and walked away, not wanting to create a commotion on a busy Sunday afternoon. I would be interested to hear if anyone else would find this acceptable or not?

Very nice food in a very nice location. Staff helpful, attentive without being overly so, and friendly. Also some more unusual beers/lagers/ciders on tap.

Such a lovely cosy pub . We both had the homemade pie which was really big and crammed full of meat . Really lovely . Great service . A very enjoyable lunch.

We had a family Christmas meal, whilst we appreciated the staff giving their day to cater for us the experience wasn't all good. From simple drinks orders being wrong on both occasions. The food was slow in arriving and when it did the quality of cooking wasn't great, the individual wellingtons were particularly disappointing, the meat was tough and overcooked whilst the pastry was raw in places . We decided not to complain due to it being Christmas day but if they plan on catering for people on such a special day they need to up their game

We had the most lovely time here, what a beautiful pub, great food, lovely staff and Finchingfield was a super place where we had never been before. A long way from where we live but we'll worth it

I went here for lunch with done colleagues, I felt the menu was expensive for a lunch menu and options were not what I would expect.I gad Ham, egg and chunky chips. The ham was not particularly tasty, egg and chips were good.I would like to have seen things like a steak sandwich on the menu.Service was quite average. Limited parking.

Had a great meal restaurant still running strict Covid rules, we were very warmly greated and there is a fantastic old pub ambiance with a roaring log fire. Service way perfect, just the right pace and advice on specials etc. Food and drink was spot on, the dishes are large and very tasty. Perfectly cooked. You do pay for the quality but I felt it was good value (£80 for the two of us). We will definitely come back, I would not change anything, it was just perfect.Forgot to mention there is a reasonable size car park behind the pub.

I have been visiting this pub since the '80:s and it never disappoints. The staff were so courteous and helpful and the food was lovely and hot. You have to try their chips - they are out of this world, huge, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The food portions are very generous. All in all it was a lovely afternoon and my elderly aunt thoroughly enjoyed her trip. Thanks guys.
