Today we visited the George for breakfast as we normally do often! Today the pub was extremely cold to the point we left our coats on, we sat next to the fire but asked if they would turn it on for us!! The young waitress asked another lady behind the bar and all we could hear was moaning about it and how busy they were as there were only two members or staff plus chefs! There were only 4 customers in the pub and 2 were us!!! We asked again but she bluntly said we can't put the fire on as it's to expensive and can't afford to put the heating on! We got up and left as felt so uncomfortable! We visited last month on a Sunday to enjoy a roast and again it was very cold then! We went a few yards now the road and got a warm welcome and a lovely warm building and lovely breakfast! The staff need to change there attitude and learn so customer service!! No wonder there were no customers and they can't afford the bills! If they put the heating on I'm sure the pub would be busy!!! Who wants to sit in the cold!!!

Surprising to see some negative reviews citing the poor service. I received exemplary and friendly service from all the bar and waiting staff over the course of the couple of nights I visited. Food and drinks were very good and the bar area was welcoming next to the open fire. Thank you to all the team.

Three of us visited this pub today for lunch. We all had a chorizo burger and a Coke Zero and the burger was arguably one of the best I’ve ever had. The height of the burger is almost too much to bite, the patty is a good piece of meat and filled with chorizo, jalapeños and cheese. There was absolutely no room left for afters! The staff were all really good, we were served by a super friendly bar maid where the order was taken quickly and also had a good conversation.I’ll definitely be visiting again. 10/10

Lovely tasty muscles and prawns! Didn't hesitate to change chips for potatoes which were lovely. Could've done with a bit more mash & gravy on the belly of pork but apart from that was great!

All of the food we ordered was outstanding, the same as service and atpmosphere. Beef was literally melting in the mouth, everything was absolutely delicious. It might look as standard english pub at the start, but it is more than that.

Dropped by early for a coffee and a bite, having been ignored at another place nearby. Not only did we get a great welcome and fast service, the food and the drinks were excellent. Great value too! Thanks for taking care of us!

You can't fault this place. Great food and staff. You can even take your dog. 🐕 Well worth a visit.

Fabulous food and great service. Popped in on the off chance of a table, staff sorted us a table and the kitchen were happy to stay open a little longer to do our order. Best pub burger in a long time. Mac n cheese was pretty good too. Highly recommend, but book if you can we were lucky many others popping in weren't.

We had dinner here and had the fish and chips which tasted really nice. We also had cocktails as well. We had mojito which were very tasty and alcoholic, my wife had a cosmopolitan and I had a expreso Martini, service was brisk and efficient.

Such a great pub. Good selection of drinks. The bar staff are amazing, super friendly and go out of there way to help if needed . Plenty of clean seating inside and outside. Really lovely views of harbour and bridge.
