The Swan is a free house and restaurant that serves the mainstream lager,s, beers and ale,s. It also sells guest beer.s and real ale,sThe restaurant serves a broad range of food all well prepared and of good quality.Live music indoors and outdoors is part of the Swans culture. And some very good artists perform here.The beer garden where they have outdoor barbecue's is in my opinion the best in the Braintree area. It is a very pleasant place to sit with a nice pint on a Summer's dayThere also is undercover outdoor seatings to accommodate the unpredictable English weather.The Swan is a dam good pub by any standard.Hence 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Really friendly staff, excellent service, I used to drink in town but haven't been there for months because of how good the service is here. Best King prawn curry i've ever had. Great food excellent service, I would highly recommend a visit!

Beautiful pub on the outskirts of Braintree.... Best sausage and mash I've had in a long time and the onion gravy made me want to lick the plate... very friendly staff here... and the garden area/dining area is brilliant with lots of plants and trees ... you can also watch TV outside.....

Finally, a local pub that does food for Coeliac's. the do a brilliant gluten free fish and chips (cooked in a separate fryer to avoid cross contamination), they also adjusted some of the other parts of the menu so i could eat them too! the staff are friendly and happy to help. highly reccomend.

Maybe we shouldn't take an unplanned afternoon pub meal too seriously, but we were incredibly disappointed with what we felt was by the far the worst pub food we've ever had. Stale, cheapest quality bread bun, the cheapest slice of plastic cheese, the worst quality burger, chips that oozed grease when you cut into them, eggs that were fried to oblivion (solid / no runny yolk / glistening in frying oil), a gammon steak (I ordered ham, there's a disntinction) coated in greasy oil. Inedible and a waste of money - I'm really not one for writing bad reviews for the sake of it but this experience left us feeling cheated the food was so bad, and in our opinion isn't of an acceptable standard.
