The Witham House in Braintree

Have bought from here once before and wasn't disappointed then so went again this evening. Prompt polite service from the guy at the counter and waited for my food to be prepared.I ordered the set meal A for one and I could not believe the explosion of flavour. The chicken balls were crispy and the pancake roll was a meal in itself. The egg fried rice was fluffy and just as delicious.Will I be coming back again?? Definitely!!! Especially as I was given a complimentary pack of prawn crackers!2022What a difference 2 years makes. Just tried to eat what was a bland chewy tasteless take out and had to give up and chuck in the bin. Had tried to add salt to no avail. Not sure what's changed but apart from the price hike the quality has gone DOWN! The spring roll looked days old and the chop suey lacked flavour. Sorry, won't be coming back here again!!! Shame as this joint was good once and I'd bought quite a few meals in the past two years since. But if you're going to let your quality slide, you're going to lose mine and others custom.

Have lived in Witham for 16 years and throughout I have continually found The Witham House to be the best takeaway in the town. The food is always great, the staff are very friendly and the prices are reasonable.In more recent times I was further pleased to see how well they attempted to adhere to all of the COVID regs., including an excellent and very prominent sign, pinned to the outside of the door, saying, "Face masks MUST be worn"Well done Witham House

Great service. Ordered at the counter , and 15 minutes later provided our piping hot meal . Tried something different and not disappointed. Thank you

This site is my favorite site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I feel like having a good lunchon, this restaurant comes right away to my head. superb and all sorts of food and a large menu.generous crew, and agreeable atmosphere. Also, the tariff is affordable. I tell about this restaurant with no doubt.

Ordered the cheese pancake rolls from here for our daughter who cannot eat meat,,, they come with chicken and cheese, how ridiculous!!!! We use these in the past but won’t be using them again!!!! This is horrendous listing on the menu.

Friendly staff, and listened well to my food allergies and served me with what I can eat , nice hot food for collection, busy tonight with delivery drivers , I used to drive for the family in another premises they owned years ago. Nice to see them still in business.

Ordered a treat for my partner and daughter sat night!! Never tasted anything as bad will NEVER order again 40 quid wasted all food ended up in bin ... sort yourselves out felt as a sick as a pig!!!

I have ordered from here before and it's been nice. I ordered mix starter the chicken wings were very very dry the satay chicken also very dry I ordered a satay sauce well this looked like dog sick and tasted disgusting. Seaweed chewy. The main chicken curry was tasteless watery . Also ordered a barbecue sauce worse I've ever had. Rang to complain and was told have to return food for a refund. Drove down and got my refund no apologies. Will never order from them again

Can't give a 0 star or I would. This is the worst Chinese I have ever tasted In my life. The curry well I don't know what that was but it wasn't no curry. The chips were rock hard and cold about the only thing I enjoyed was the mushrooms and let's face it that's because no one can mess up mushrooms. My 5 year old could do better. 35 pounds for the vilest food I've ever tasted.

We had a mixed meal for three which was still hot after a fifteen minute journey home and the chicken chow mien and crispy chilli beef were fabulous meaty succulent and spiced just enough the duck spring rolls were crispy and well filled and the prawn King po was really juicy and delightful especially since I had never had it before. We will definitely go back again.
