Had food there, the food was pretty good and decent value, drinks about standard price these days.So why a three star rating? Trying to get service at the bar was difficult, we had to go outside to find someone where one of the staff was playing with someone's dog. We had waited 5m at the bar with no one servingThe starters arrived very quickly so tick for that, the mains didn't arrive at all and we had to ask twice but no one gave us an update on when we could expect them, eventually they turned up.So just really needs a bit of attention to service

If you are looking for old age hotel then this is place for you, very near to Therford city market, walking distance from Bus station. Very quite hotel. English breakfast is available. ALDI superstore is also walkable. And most important staff is very helpful.

Always great service when ever we go. This time we brought tour dog and they made us feel really welcome. They provided a dog bowl for the birthday cake we were given from another dog owner and they all went out here way to make our experience great. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants delicious food and great service especially when bringing dogs along.

We had a nice spacious and clean room and the food was very good. We tried to book for the sunday roast but they were booked up which we were told often happens so you have to book early....guess this is a good sign. will hopefully get to try the roast next time.

Very helpful friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, dog friendly. However, the environment lacks basic maintenance and cleaning. Taps, baths etc that need attention. Mould growth and dust in the bathrooms. Guttering that doesn't appear to have been cleared for years. Just a lick of paint would go a long way to improve things

Food was delicious, staff were very friendly. We had a lovely time there.

Had eggs benedict for brunch, looked lovely, however the bagels were rock hard, I could not cut nor bite them, as though they were incredibly stale. The rest of the meal was tasty.

Service was very good, staff were very freindly, food was tasty & reasonably priced. Beds, including a bed sofa were a bit hard (but that's just personal preference. We were glad to get back to our own). The hotel itself was everything you'd expect from an extremely old, listed building (or as an estate agent would say, "full of original features & plenty of personalty) but our room, in places, could have done with a visit from a decorator (cracked plaster, peeling paint) & some brighter light bulbs. But apart from that it was just fine. 4/5 stars
