Hare and Barrel in Breckland

The star is just so I can write to let you know this is no longer a pub/hotel but another private business.

Changes have been made. It is now very glitzy. Staff were pleasant but it seemed to have lost something in the transformation.

Bit belated as im catching up on my digs over the last few weeks or so.... apologies to the hare and barrel for my time keeping lol... huge thank you to Kate and the chef girl and all the staff, totally made me feel welcome and as a contractor working away flying solo i wasn't left wanting... really friendly locals also... had a great 4 days/nights.... would definitely recommend as i will be travelling down on a social visit with company... awesome place!!

Nothing really to complain about apart from the smell of cigarette smoke in my room. Otherwise it's a dated, but great hotel, with great customer service and a useful packed lunch. Note breakfast doesn't start till 7.30am for early risers.

Horrible customer service .. freezing cold rooms. Booked 2 nights for my 2 of my work lads . And after one night they handed keys back. Rang me and told me why they had left . So I contacted the property to be told it's not there problem and won't be issueing me a refund for the night there not there. Never mind the first night where they had to sleep in there clothes. They didn't feel like The staff was approachable . So handed the keys back and left. No help on the phone at all. WILL NOT RECCOMEND OR BE BOOKING AGAIN. I have now booked them another room a few mile down the road.. horrible experience..!! Will be taking this further!!!!!!!!!!!

Some amazing members of staff, management let it down. Smaller menu and better quality ingredients would dramatically improve their restaurant and reviews.

This is a nice place. The staff are superb. Friendly. Cheerful. It's ideal for working men and women. It is what you can expect for the charge

As other reviewers may have stated, the rooms are dated. However it was great value, the rooms are quiet, the staff are really friendly and helpful. As soon as we said we'd be leaving before breakfast we offered a packet lunch instead.Also had s meal in the bar, good portions, nothing fancy simply a nice meal.I'd stay here again

Car park to the front. Inside surprisingly spacious. They have a selection of beers but only one cider on draft. There menu has a wide selection of food cooked and swerved to a good standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

Lovely staff, very welcoming. Rooms simple but comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. More than good enough for an overnight stay for a night or 2.
