Nimmi in Breckland

I am feeling very bad to give such feedback for an Indian restaurant after being an Indian myself. I visited this restaurant 3 times including today, in each visit 2 things are common. 1 is very delicious food and 2 the worst hospitality. In first two visits I just ignored the rudeness of the staff and opted to make my food take-away rather than dine-in. But tonight, the intolerable service made me write this review. Just because of the delicious food, I invited 3 of my Indian friends all the way from Cambridge to have dinner at Nimmi. But the way we were treated by the staff spoiled our night. We were 4 persons and out of that only I was familiar with the taste of the food. My other friends wanted to try the food first and if they like then order further. But, the old man taking our order didn't like the way of ordering dishes one by one. According to him this way of ordering food was bothering the chef. I don't understand that if we ordered something and we like that food, why can't we order again? He wanted us to place the whole order at the same time. Moreover, he said us that English people never order like us. I don't understand that you are operating an Indian restaurant but you hate Indian customers. How can you be so racist while working at an Indian restaurant and being an Indian yourself.Anyways, thanks for your special treatment and making me realize that I should never visit this restaurant again. Be happy with your English customers.

They delivered to the wrong address as I paid online. I called them 20 minutes later to get told they will cook a new dish in 15 min. A new meal was delivered my partner said the neighbourreturned our food. So he didn't touch it and waited for the fresh cooked food. So miscommunication with the delivery person.I did ask for a refund thinking they didn't deliver the new dish as advised. And told no and hope you enjoyed your food. So was very confused. It's the second time recently I've waited over a hour for food. I'd rather go elsewhere for a more reliable service.

We were treated on our racism which made as angry at that point ,We visited on 30/03/2022 at 9 :10 PMFood was really good all the dishes which we tired at the place ,But need to have some hospitality manner on how to treat the customer , we wanted to try all the dishes one by one , but the person told to order everything all together in a bad tone of voice , which is not an good manner to approach to an customer , after we tired to explain him that we are from hospitality industry , we were treated properly ,Hope this will not be repeated with other customers who are visiting the place ,We ordered the food for 100 pounds ,Happy with good , but disappointed with the service and experience ,I believe that it will help the restaurant in changing the experience over the place , if any higher responsible person of the restaurant Is reading kindly work on the feedback

Fantastic service, didn’t hold back on the chutney unlike some places, extremely friendly and nice decor too. One of the best Indians I have visited and that’s saying something.

Would highly recommend what a fantastic takeaway and such lovely owner and staff, food is amazing, in fact my Mom and I love to have a takeaway at least once a week from here. They are soo helpful as My Mom needs more sause than meat on hers and soo kind to sort it out. Cannot thank them enough. X

Loved the food, service and atmosphere. Very clean establishment with kind staff and DELICIOUS food! We visited for the Sunday Buffet. It was lovely!

We went out for my wife's birthday to Nimmi and although I have been visiting this place since the 1980,s it had been a while so when I was asked what it was like by a couple of the other party I was unsure what to say. I need not have worried though as it was as good as ever. We had a table of 13 which is quite difficult to serve all the food at once but they coped perfectly with all the food piping hot and served so nobody was left waiting. The food was excellent quality and at least half the party are vegetarians and they were all pleased to see every dish could be served as a veggie option. The staff are so polite and friendly. At no point did we feel rushed. We were given hot wipes,orange segments and chocolate mints at the end of the meal. They did not mind that many of the people were driving so they were supplied with as much free water as they asked for. The bill was suprisingly cheap when we came to pay and even the wine was inexpensive which is a rarity these days. We all had a great time and left happy and full. They even put the leftovers in containers for the people who were not as greedy as me. Thanks to the owner and staff from Nimmi for a great evening.
