It's a beautiful pub In a beautiful village. Not many guests, surprising, because the service was prompt and friendly. Small menu, well thought out.

AMAZING!We had my mothers 80th here this evening. They couldnât be more accommodating letting us set the room up an hour before mum arrived. The foodâŠâŠabsolutely awesome! My chicken supreme was out of this world so thank you to the chefs. All 17 of us had a gorgeous meal with bread and garlic bread to start given to us that we didnât even know about. The waitresses were flat out but still worked hard to look after us extremely well. We helped them clear our plates onto another table near the door to make the their lives easier. Even when we arrived to set up she immediately asked if we wanted a drink. Brilliant!Mum had such a great time and thank you Crown for doing what you did. We all loved it. 10/10

Lovely friendly atmosphere. I haven't eaten here yet, but the food looks good and friends have recommended it to me. Definitely be having a visit to eat here soon.

Arrived at 7 o clock for my birthday meal...ordered chicken supreme and beef bourgogne...what an experience...chicken supreme ÂŁ17.99 uncooked served in a pig trough, beef served in the smallest dish ÂŁ18. Where do they think they can get away with this surely people must know they are being ripped off...very unfriendly and couldn't wait to get out...

Visited last month and had a nice meal! My only complaint would be the service was slightly slow but the atmosphere and feel of the pub was lovely so it wasnât too bad waiting a whole. Food was worth it in the end! Will visit again soon!

Lovely afternoon with a friend in a great village pub. Nice food too. Oh, and I have to give credit to the lovely staff!

Really disappointed⊠Waitress was pleasant but took us to the table and then we were forgotten about. Menu is really limited (donât be fooled by the website) The steak pye was overcooked, dry and burnt. Macaroni cheese really oily⊠The âsaladâ that comes with your food was just leaves. Food came out at different times. Will never eat here again which is a shame⊠The people that run it are friendly and nice, but food was appalling.

Second time we have been to the Crown now and I am pleased to say we really enjoyed it. The food was very nice and the staff are friendly. We sat outside and it was lovely and peaceful with a nice view.

Went as a small group with family for my sisterâs birthday. None of us had been before but after reading good reviews decided to try it. This has to be one of the worst levels of service any of us had received. Had booked a table a week in advance and had a wait to be shown to it. Once shown to the table we were abandoned. It was obvious once we came in that the owner preferred to serve her regular customers and we as outsiders werenât welcome. Tables that came in after us that clearly knew the owner had their orders taken before us. When finally we had our order taken we were informed there were no childrens menu so theyâd have to eat off the adults menu - okay, not ideal, luckily an option on the menu our son would eat - and were interrupted several times when trying to ask for what we wanted. It couldnât be clearer how little she wanted to serve us. Then had another massive wait for food, nearly 45 minutes for starters. After this wait the owner came out and informed us, loudly, that one of the staff members dealing with starters had left them in the lurch and had to go home as she had a sick daughter, and did we still want to wait?? Well we had already been waiting for a long time so we said yes but I realise now she was trying to get us to leave! Food came and was ok, nothing special, though the lamb mains were so full of fat there was very little edible meat. Three of the meals were missing items listed on the menu they said they came with. When finally we went to pay she questioned if weâd had any extra drinks - no as couldnât get the service even if we had wanted them - and questioned if we had paid for our drinks at the start (which we had). She didnât believe us and very loudly called out to hunt down the poor girl who served us at the start (who I might add was the nicest member of staff we encountered!) to make sure we had paid! We are a very quiet group but perhaps our faces didnât fit for this pub. Such a shame as a wonderful location and quite close by but with the management as it is we wonât return again. Shocking.â

Wow what a little gem of a country pub/restaurant !!! The food is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The pub itself is cosy and welcoming and the staff are friendly attentive and efficient. I will definitely be returning !! Highly recommend coming here.
