The Gamekeeper Freehouse in Breckland

Wonderful ambience, friendly and efficient staff and sublime food. My steak was the best I've had, and my niece who is vegan had a wonderful meal. My husband who loves ribs ranked the rib special highly. I've eaten here three times and have yet to be disappointed. Definitely one of my favourite eateries.

Food was okay...a bit pricey for what it was. The butternut risotto was a bit bland and the cottage pie was tasteless. The Nutella cheesecake was the saving grace...absolutely sublime! The staff were friendly and attentive though.

We all love coming to The Gamekeeper, the food is always amazing and the staff are all lovely and friendly, it's easily the best pub in Old Buckingham!Plus they're extremely dog friendly, and our pup Fang always gets excited when we visit for a meal.

Great selection of woodfordes beers. We had fish and chips & chicken supreme. Both were delicious and the service was good and attentive.

Excellent food portions a little large which meant you will not need 3 courses in my opinion and I can eat well. Smaller portions 3 courses. Staff polite and great service highly recommended.

Really lovely lunch. Sandwich menu offered a good choice. Definitely have the upgraded chips. Friendly staff and you can book a table on the app. The gamekeeper has not been open for a long time but has been decorated and refurbished really well. The village now has 2 pubs and this is a great addition. The full menu looks good. A notch about pub food but nothing that alienates; there is something for everyone.

Fantastic , warm and cosy country feeling . Roast lunch was absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly and and made you feel very welcome. Would highly recommend this pub .

Really lovely meal. Visited for a family birthday and was pleasantly surprised to find this in deepest darkest Norfolk. Quality of food was very good and service excellent, especially the lovely Sian.

what a lovely evening that we had last night at the Gamekeeper - fantastic environment, excellent staff and the food was superb. we had the Christmas menu and the portion sizes and presentation were top class.Also what impressed us were the quality and price of wines which were also fantastic.

Our first time here and not even new to the village, very welcoming staff, lovely atmosphere, very accommodating, served us a sandwich even though fully booked! Can't wait to try the main menu!
