The Old Bell in Breckland

We live in the village but don’t go out to pubs for meals. But we decided to have a light lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday, today.Welcome warm ambiance on a Tuesday’s lunchtime. Excellent service from Sharon and fast delivery of our dishes à la carte. Well cooked, fresh and nicely presented on big plates with perfect quantity and quality for a pub’s hot lunches.And pretty great prices too!Thank you Sharon and the Chef in the kitchen.

Absolutely lovely home cooked food fantastic value for money. Very good portion sizes and lovely service.

Only went for a drink, but did see meals comming out looked good friendly sat outside in the sun very enjoyable

I usually have a good meal at the Old Bell.Arranged for my family to have Sunday lunch there this weekend and was very disappointed.Beef tough. Veg watery and tasteless. Meal not up to the usual standard. Such a shame as the staff were friendly and helpful.

Was a great place , food was fantastic, staff and manager couldn't be any more helpful , so yes I recommend the the old bell . You want good food , nice place to sit , here is the place .

Went for a Sunday carvery with family including children/baby. Nice warm atmosphere with real fire, proper English country pub. Lovely great quality drinks at a good price, and good service. Booked for 1:30pm as the carvery finished at 2pm. Was a bit concerned when walked in as appeared just remains of meat and veg, however there was just enough meat and they re-stocked the veg etc. The beef was some of the best I’ve had, perfectly cooked and very tender. The gravy was to die for, and the veg, Yorkshire and stuffing all good. Also had some very nice deserts. Amazing value at £11 for 2 courses! Would definitely recommend, just maybe a bit earlier to ensure get the meat choice you want (Turkey, Beef, Pork or Gammon).

"stuffed mushrooms" is ONE mushroom topped with some chutney and cheese on some bagged salad for £4.95!Asked if it's usually only one and yes it is... Other food was ok, usual pub grub. We were the only customers on a Saturday lunchtime - maybe it's gone downhill from previous reviews. Disappointed.
