I have been eating here for 15 years now, and travel in from Romford to do so. Out of all the Indian restaurants I have been too, only the newcomer, Razza of Gidea Park, gives the Shenfield Tandoori a run for its money.I return here time and time again for one very good reason, the Lamb (or chicken) Korai!!!! I have ordered Korai in other establishments, but quite frankly this is the original and best version for me; deep thick red sauce, sizzling in its iron skillet, it awakens the senses before you've even taken a bite. It is mostly ordered with a mushroom rice, bombay potato, some Naan and onion bhaji's. Now, I have a (maybe stupid) theory that you can judge an Indian restaurant on its onion bhaji's alone, and these are without doubt the best I have had anywhere. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, crumbling in your mouth, and wonderfully round unlike those drab, flat affairs served up by less educated establishments. The staff are friendly, but be careful not to outstay your welcome......we kept them open until 1.30am one infamous night, and you could tell the poor waiters were well past their bedtimes, lol! This is the best you will find for may a far-flung mile, perhaps further if you could drag me away to see, try it and you will not be disappointed.Edit: they’ve obviously changed the chef, not a patch on what it used to be! Try Razza in Gidea Park instead.

Excellent food here, ordered the Hari Mirch Chicken, Keema naans and a Peshawari naan. I have to say as a spice lover the spicy Hari Mirch Chicken and the sweet Peshawari naan went suprisingly well together . Service was also outstanding! Give it and go and you wont be let down!!

Being Bangladeshi myself I am always hesitant on ordering indian, as I am very picky. It's the third time I have ordered from there and I can honestly say I have not been disappointed yet food was prepared to exact specifications. I can say I will drive miles to get good Indian take away and this is my new go to.

First the food arrived 45 minutes late and no apology from the company. Secondly, the worst takeaway (of any cuisine) that we have ever tried. Bland, watery no flavour and they were completely unhelpful when we requested a refund. Awful service. Awful food.

Delivered a little earlier than expected. We had a 2yr old at the table so ordered a low chili menu (korma/biryani)... My goodness, I'm not sure there was even a trace of chili in any of it (which certainly was no issue for my boy). The samosas and bhajis were okay. Popadoms only come with one variety of dip. Biryani came with a half measure of veggie curry that didn't cover anywhere near all of the rice & lamb.Nothing bad, but nothing to make us return sadly. The definition of 3 stars. Suggest the owners head to Lahores on Military road for some inspiration.

Ordered a family takeaway via Deliveroo. The order was over an hour late & their ETA kept increasing. As a result, we couldn't keep waiting, so I cancelled the order with Deliveroo & Shenfield Tandoori. The following day, I was shocked to find Shenfield Tandoori has debited my card £56.29 for food I did not receive.I complained to Deliveroo & still three days later, I have received no refund. As a result, this morning I disputed the charge with my card provider.I blame Shenfield Tandoori for the inefficiency to prepare & cook a meal in the timeframe promised.AVOID & order your Indian takeaway elsewhere.Never again...........

Food was only passable but the service was poor.My sister asked the waiter for a recommendation from the menu; something authentic he himself would eat for dinner. He responded that there wasn't anything really authentically spiced on the menu as it's designed with a 'local' clientele in mind. Quite an admission to tell three white Brits in an Indian restaurant that the food's dumbed down to suit them.Perhaps unsurprisingly therefore, the food that arrived was not unpleasant but no more than unremarkable; you won't have to go very far to eat better Indian food for less money. The finale to the evening was one of the waiters evacuating his larynx into a sink behind the bar as we were finishing our food; it was a joy for the ear as much as the eye and a fitting epitaph to my first and last visit here.Avoid.

Over £60 worth of food ordered from here tonight and it was the worst experience I've ever had from an Indian restaurant. Waited 2 hours for it even to arrive and then the food was terrible. Firstly the portions were half the size of what I would expect, most food trays were only half full or less. Secondly the food was bland, watery and frankly just disgusting. When we rang up to complain we were offered a 30% discount which was just for the wait. Nothing was done about the food by the restaurant and we ended up going through just eat to get a full refund. As the just eat guy said, if you can't handle big orders don't take them. I will never go back here and neither will anyone I know.
