Spread Eagle in Brentwood

Visited on 7th May 2022. They've only just started doing Sunday roasts again, and if they are as good as this every week then they should be packed out all the time. The staff were lovely too. Highly recommended!

First time visitor to here. Lovely little pub. Friendly staff and nice food.

Super friendly and trendy Pub. A traditional look and great atmosphere with both younger and older people all under one roof having a great time every night and I love that dogs are welcome. The staff are so friendly and entertaining but it can get busy so book if you want a table especially if its a special occasion plus you dont need to worry about troublesome people as its well monitored and safe with security at weekends. Food everday but a different menu on Sundays which is a lovely roast at the moment and all the food is very nice. Quiz nights on Tuesdays and DJ nights sometimes along with Jazz nights at the end of every month. It has a cute and relaxing area outside as well as table and chairs out the front in summer. Also everything is on the ground floor so easy pram and wheelchair access X

Had food here the other day and couldn't believe how amazing it was. Carl makes the best food here, I've noticed standard's are always higher when he's in. Thankyou!

Really lovely pub, small but good atmosphere with polite staff and a good range of drinks. I haven’t yet been here in the summer or sat outside, but I would recommend this pub.

This place is an absolute gem. Our fave local pub, and food there is really good!

Excellent food. Friendly service. Reasonably priced. Would have got 5 stars but the food took a long time to get to us after ordering (1hr!) 😊

Becoming a regular now. Good atmosphere, not too loud, seating areas for different groups of two, four or six, good range beers, fair prices, outside area for summer, warm in winter, quiz nights and dog-friendly too!Staff seem to change with every visit, but they’ve all been fast, fun and know their stuff!

Different Gravy!!!!!Brentwood is not shy of options when it comes to ordering a roast dinner. However, when you ask multiple people of where they recommend, and the Spread Eagle is a regular 'Top 3' suggestion then you know it must be something special.It's been on my radar for some time, but this past week the moment came where I was able to see if it was as good as the locals suggest.This is where I will struggle for the right words to do this place justice...This roast dinner was quite simply the best I've had in recent years. It would be easy to say "it's the best I've ever had", so I'll settle for this... If I'm in Brentwood and want a roast dinner... I'm 110% going to the Spread Eagle!!I'm not sure if this is a standard option, but we were a group of guys who were enjoying the Bank Holiday festivities and wanted something to tie us over. We asked whether we could have something knocked up for the 3 of us, and they rustled this absolute beauty up. We felt bad asking, but nothing was too much trouble. We were treated to a monster Tomahawk (Pork), Honey Glazed Veg, Truffle Oil Roast Potatoes, Succulent Beef, outrageously crisp and tasty stuffing and Yorkshire Pudding's sent from heaven. All of which was accompanied by copious amounts of gravy.To be honest, we were absolutely blown away by this feast and we were more than tied over for the rest of the evening. After an hour or so, and having seen multiple roast dinners popping up around the pub (unsurprisingly), the Chef popped out for some fresh air and we couldn't thank him enough... Top fella too!!This pub is a must visit for me... If the worded description & attached picture of the roast dinner are not enough to win you over, then trust in the fact that this little gem sits within a beautiful backdrop of Brentwood, serves cold, crisp Moretti as well as an array of other tipples. The vibe is warm, fun and engaging and above all else... The owners are clearly all for the customer and go above and beyond to ensure this pub stands on the shoulders of Britain's greatest industry!Get down there, get a roast dinner on order... but leave one for me!

Simply the best little gem in town. Great staff great service top beers and cracking coffee. What more could you want🤗
