Disgraceful Parking Charges For CustomersThe Royal Rose have contracted a parking company to charge customers a £60 fine escalating to £100 if they do not enter their car registration (on arrival) into a NEW system they are implementing. A system that staff are failing to notify customers about either on arrival or during their visit. As a new mum I visited with other mums on 7th Feb. We thought it would be quiet being a Monday however on arrival were informed that there was a wake taking place in the restaurant, so we just had coffees in the bar area - something we all paid for in cash and didn’t keep the receipts (not that any proof of purchase has been requested by the parking company).A new parking policy would be easy for anyone to miss at the best of times if the staff are not flagging it on arrival or during your visit and even more so when you’re trying to get in anywhere with a baby alone. It’s the last thing you are thinking about. We’ve appealed to both the restaurant and the parking company and the appeals have so far been unsuccessful even though they haven’t disputed that we were actually their customers on the day - the charges remain due to a technicality - something I find appalling.

Lovely food, staff friendly, just the drinks a bit pricey.

To be honest, I'm very disappointed. Went for a sten do was booked for 18 only 16 places ready. Had to wait over half an hour for another table to be added so the guests could sit down. Dinner was booked for 7.30. We got our starters at 9.15!! Well, the food was very disappointing cold and rubbery, to be honest. Took ages to get served even drinks took a very long time to come. Some went to the bar as it was quicker. So to be honest would not go back here again 😕

Nice. Very clean, and well decorated. Staff are polite and seem knowledgeable about the menu. Prices are a bit on the high side, but not excessive.Parking is on a meter in the carpark. Don't forget to pay.The meals we had were filling and tasted great. Portion sizes were just right. TBH, a little bit too expensive for my wallet, but worth a visit, to try for yourself.

Service was poor, we booked for a large table before hand and on arrival the table was not for the amount requested dispite when arriving the table amount was confirmed what we booked. It then took 50 minutes for them to bring over another table and chairs, dispite asking several times, a few times we saw the servers pull a face after asking for something when they was walking away numerous times. We then only started ordering starters nearly 1.5hrs after arriving, to then only getting main meals at 9.45pm, to which were luke warm, very dry chewy, and over salted. Some of the cocktails didnt even taste like they had alcohol in and one of our guests had some spilt on them when giving drinks over.We then didn't leave until gone 11 after having all the food & drink. We was disappointed as this was for a special occasion and was recommended to go here.We will not be returning.

Was very nice. My starter of Haloumi croquets with lemon mayo was especially excellent. The roast wasn't as exciting in flavours, but nice all the same. Profiteroles were a great Light way to finish off. A bit pricey we felt, but everywhere is getting more expensive now!

Came here today after a Funeral. An area was set aside for our exclusive use. Good selection of hot food, sausage rolls, sandwiches etc. Friendly and polite staff, clean toilets and fee parking

I eat here often as a go-to option for a guaranteed great meal & nice evening. The food: Each time I’ve visited, the food has not disappointed. Large portions, numerous tasty and interesting options (fish, meat, veg). Cooked, seasoned and garnished to perfection. Allergy safe. Wide choice of drinks. The venue: Decorated nicely. Date night or a nice dinner with friends/family. Probably not suitable for small children. There is also a separate bar on the other side of the restaurant. The staff: Attentive, friendly and professional. The manager/owner is always at the restaurant to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Had a fantastic brunch here Highly Recommended!! The staff were welcoming and happy to help despite a very busy and chaotic service, they made you feel nothing was too much trouble. Although ridiculously busy all the staff were more than happy to accommodate our endless drink requests. The food was to a high standard, I would be happy bring my boss, my mum, or my friends here. I sound like I'm gushing but I really enjoyed my brunch here. Prices were in line with what I would expect. I'd like to thank Melissa, Freya and Tara in particular. Check my photos for the menu. Give it a try it's worth it!
