The Plough Bar & Restaurant in Brentwood

Great food in a great atmosphere! Lovely and clean and spacious with great outside space. The staff are wonderful and really made the visit enjoyable.

First visit since covid, ambience changed. It is now a restaurant not a pub. Service and food very good. The lunch menu very good value, will visit again when in the area.

Waiter was great but other than that we thought the food was pretty average and we'll overpriced. There was only 6 items on the menu for mains. I had liver and bacon, I think it was £18. It only had one rasher of streaky bacon with a slab of unsliced liver which was not cooked through, I prefer liver in strips and cooked through, this may just be my taste but I've just got home and now my stomach does not feel great at all. Some of our table had roast dinners for £25 which came with 2 pieces of roast potato!! Overall not impressed. I don't want people to think I'm out to put people down, I've done loads of Google reviews and this is the lowest score I have ever given.

The Sunday roast is superb. Went for a friend's birthday and it was honestly spot on start to finish. Highly recommended 👌

Hidden gem, the food and service is fantastic. A must for good food.

The servings are very small and food is way over priced. Service was ok but a little slow but waiter very friendly. Worst thing was on every course they had run out of at least two of the dishes. Had 2 courses, one alcoholic drink and 2 soft drinks and came to over 40 quid x

Visited the Plough for a family members 90th birthday, food was good but very slow service this was not due to waiting staff as you could tell they were working really hard but there were not enough staff to deal with the quantity of customers. We only had 2 courses but this took 3 1/2 hours!!

Last minute booking, fab food and great service. I'll certainly be going back 😋

Fabulous fish! Lovely service, and the best beer-battered fish and chips ever. Real masterpiece, and came very quickly.
