Food was delicious. Beers and ciders on draught taste brilliant. Fantastic staff. Well worth a visit

First time I've been to the Chestnut since it was the Bull pub. Initial seating was dubious due to wonky table, but staff was willing to let us use an eating table instead. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Lovely pub.

Today we enjoyed a lovely lunch.4 of us chose from the 2 for £15 menu which had a large selection and we were all happy with our meals. My son had a pulled pork burger from the main menu which was reasonably priced and generous in size.Overall a pleasant meal with good service.

Found this place whilst staying at the Holiday Inn Express as it's about 1 mile away. Really pleasant staff, the food was hot, plentiful, of good quality and reasonably priced. Only slight downside was a virtually non existent range of ales. All in all though a really pleasant meal out.

First time I'd eaten here. Very impressed. Good menu. Reasonable prices. Decent portions and very well presented. Would definitely eat there again. Would recommend.

We stopped in on a quiet Wednesday afternoon for an early dinner and were seated immediately. Drinks orders were taken quickly and with a smile and the food was tasty and promptly prepared. Laura was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed; we will be returning again soon.We didn't check out the bathrooms but the rest of the restaurant was clean and tidy. Parking is ample and disabled bays are available near the entrance

Visited for the first time in a large group, the staff were amazing from booking to leaving. They dealt with allergens, children, noise and a group of nearly 30 wanting different things, nothing seemed too much. Unfortunately one of the children did decide to mess the bathrooms, we asked them for a mop to get the child to clean up the water and the staff offered to do it anyway. Food was brillaint, all meals came out hot, no complaints about the food, everything was done quickly and efficiently. Thank you all so much will be back soon

Sunday roast delivered to our door. Piping hot, on time and absolutely loads of food. Amazing Yorkshires, tender and tasty beef and a lovely half chicken. Recommended to all we will be doing this again! Thanks to you all!

Went here & had the Christmas menu.Not really suitable for large groups as we were crammed up against a wall with barely any room to get in and out. Doesn't help I get claustrophobic easily. Found this quite distressing at times.Onto the food, as a starter, I had chicken goujons. These weren't to my taste at all. I didn't realise it would have overpowering herbs as a coating so I could barely taste the chicken & the salad wasn't particularly tasty either. For main, Turkey Dinner. Vegetables were served separately from the rest of meal (hence the lack of them on my plate due to there not being enough for all of us). Sprouts were like balls of rock. Potatoes were overcooked too but the Turkey was ok. No Yorkshire pudding either. The best was the Ginger Sundae I had for afters. It was delicious.Staff were friendly & that's the only reason for the rating. Food not great but edible I guess & lack of space. Don't think I'll be going back again.

Went on a Thursday evening we didn't book. When we arrived there were no tables, didn't realise it would be so busy. Got to sit in the small pub area. We ate from the two for £10 menu (I think or the two for £15)Ordered at the bar, drinks seemed pricey. Meal was basic but nice, the seasoning on the chicken was very strong (Southern fried.) However chicken was not dry at all and real pieces too. Had dessert, it wasn't the best and it cost more than the main! I would return but may try the pricer menu and book a table too. Staff were polite, helpful and the toilets are small but clean.
