Lovely pub, seating inside and out. Great service - we had the mixed meat carvery. Great portion size, great quality and every aspect of a good roast was covered. The sorbet (we had apple and coconut and pineapple) was divine and well recommended. Overall price was good 👍 will definitely be back

Very good food- the portions were huge! Lovely service and everyone was very friendly. We were sat outside and they had some great heaters so we were nice and warm.

Lovely covered outside area. Bonus being dog friendly. Not a very big menu and staff didn't seem on the ball. Had to ask for cutlery after lunch was delivered and had to ask for roast potatoes

Mother’s Day mealMy daughter booked the Black Boys for a Mother’s Day treat for the family as I had mentioned how good the food looked when having a drink there with friends. Wow, we certainly weren’t disappointed - we all had a roast ranging from pork, beef and nut roast and all were amazing, very large, very tasty and certainly no room for starters or desserts! Highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Some areas of the pub are also dog friendly 👍

Wow! We're so glad we went in the Black Boys Hotel looking for a place to eat. First time I had the king prawn scampi the batter of which was melt in your mouth delicious and my wife had the crispy duck which was cooked to perfection. The second day she had the roast pork and I had the seafood risotto which had some tiny cockles in light batter that burst in the mouth with an incredible fishy flavour, fantastic. A little on the expensive side but worth every penny. Thank you Black Boys.

We arrived for a wedding last weekend and all the arrangements we had made via phone calls were all written down and all the staff knew, The rooms were lovely and clean linen and pillows were lovely we went down for dinner and I discussed my allergies and the staff checked with kitchen who were accommodating and out came such a lovely meal. We asked for sandwiches for some friends who were arriving later and up came a carrier with sandwiches, salad, salad dressing and coleslaw . Breakfast yhe next day was also amazing will definitely stay again.such a great attentive team all working hard to make your stay special.

The most fabulous meal last weekend. Great range of choice ( better vegetarian options than many other pubs), superbly cooked and presented. Chilly in the marquee as you would expect but go dressed for it and you won't notice. Lovely staff. We felt that we would have been happy with half the quantity of starters and main course for slightly less money....so we could squeeze a dessert in too but we were beaten!

Went there for a meal with the family. Very busy and hence a bit noisy but ok. A varied menu with traditional and something different to choose from. Bit intrusive when ordering drinks having been seated only a minute or two before being asked and then asked again a minute later. Food was hot, quickly delivered, well presented. Portions good if not a bit on the large site. My choice was a bit greasy but that's a personal thing. Prices for starters and main about right. Deserts I thought we over priced. All in all an enjoyable evening and would go again.

We have visited a few times now having moved to Aylsham. Food is always very good and once again we enjoyed wonderful fish and chips last night, which swiftly came, however the girls serving seemed quite off and a smile at least would have gone a long way.

Really enjoyed our visit today at the Black Boys. Easy to park at the back, and plenty more parking at the front.Staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly.Felt like a very traditional pub inside, plenty of seating with lovely wooden floors. Our meals arrived in good time, all hot and looked great. I asked around the table and our average was 4/5 for our meals. Lots of food, generally well cooked and presented. Prices were slightly higher than expected.A very good meal, and certainly worth a return visit.Thank you very much to the great staff. 😊
