Had a great meal on Mother's Day. Lovely food, large portions and very friendly staff. Will definitely be going back. Thanks. HARRY!

We visited on a mid-week lunchtime and most of the tables were occupied and the pub was buzzing. The staff were stretched owing to staff illness and therefore the service was slower than usual, for which we received a courteous apology. The food was good and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly. A very nice lunchtime experience.

could do with a makeover but lovely large portions of good quality food, fantastic melt in your mouth, sirloin steak with pepper sauce. Great service as well, couldn't do enough to ensure we had an enjoyable meal

Came in for lunch. Very busy which is usually a good sign. We were shown to a table. We had not booked. I would strongly advise anyone planning to visit to call ahead. We just had a main course, I had the steak and stilton pie which was excellent as was the sausage and mash my son had. Portions are quite substantial. Both meals came with vegetables such as carrot and broccoli. Staff were friendly and very efficient.

Decided to visit the pub now that new owners were established. Previously Sunday lunch was always excellent. Today however was a very different experience and one we will not be repeating. The lamb shank was so tough I couldn't eat it. To make matters worse we were just given a £5 reduction. So, I paid £10for a plate of vegetables.

We had dinner last evening (Friday). Our second visit since the Pub was sold. Our previous visit was the very night of the Sale and the fish & Chip meal & dessert were excellent as usual. Some weeks later the same meal was not sadly to that standard. No Cod on the Menu but the haddock was excellent as usual. However, the chips are no longer the crispy fresh hot chips that we have enjoyed for decades. Seems the new Owner has ditched the Supplier in favour of frozen chips a poor substitute. It was pleasing to see that the traditional desserts of bread & butter also rice puddings are still on the Menu. There was no b & b pudding but I was assured that the rice pudding was Sue's recipe, (the previous Owner). It was, except the creamy thick consistency had given way to a less concentrated version that slipped off the spoon. Moreover, the Chef had a love affair with sugar which was the primary taste. Unhealthy & sickly. Finally, we asked for a dessert & they forgot to bring the now limited Menu, until we reminded them. There is work to do so we won't hurry back.

Lovely pub. Amazing staff who found space for us when we hadn’t booked. Attractive specials board plus plenty of choices from the main menu. Warm, clean and twinkling bright. Will definitely return when next in the area.

Absolutely brilliant meal. Garlic bread was lovely and the meal portions were huge!! Couldn't manage a pudding although the choices looked lovely 😥. Staff really friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend.

Friendly staff, good service, had roast beef dinner. Sadly the beef was very tough, so tough had to get steak knife just to cut it. Such a shame, I hope it is a one off and not the standard.
