I knew The Norfolk Mead was something special on my first visit for afternoon tea in summer 2020. I knew it would make a great wedding venue and it was booked within a month of us being engaged. What we didn’t know is that our expectations would be surpassed and our wedding day and the few days after made truly unforgettable. We stayed a total of 4 days. We hired the boat and spent 4hrs on the broads enjoying a lovely picnic put together at the hotel. We had massages and facials courtesy of The Treatment Rooms which were great and just what we needed after the stress of wedding planning. The 3 course meal at the restaurant was incredible - the best meal I have ever had.The staff are second to none. The rooms are gorgeous and the location stunning. We cannot recommend highly enough. We will be back very soon.

Fabulous Sunday lunch varied choice. We arrived early so had drinks on the terrace and were seated earlier than our reservation. Great staff, very accommodating. Definitely need to book ahead.

As a quest of the bride & groom, my wife and myself, where taken back by the wonderful food, which was provided throughout the day. The staff worked very hard and I must congratulate them. No request was too much. All this help to make a brilliant day into a fantastic day.

Had afternoon tea . First time visit . Lovely building set in nice grounds . The afternoon tea was tasty and we couldn’t fault the selection . Staff were very pleasant .What was strange is that the tiered cake tray arrived … but no tea . I asked if the tea was on its way and the response was ‘ oh , you want tea , that’s fine I’ll bring some ‘I would have thought that tea was a fundamental part of afternoon tea ? It was so odd in having to request it . There was quite a wait for the tea and we had to remind the waiting staff that it hadn’t arrived . By this time we were half way through the sandwiches and cake . Eventually it came and it was nice but loose leaf tea would have been more in keeping rather than tea bags .Finally , the decor of the ground floor area is lovely and luxurious, apart from the dining area where we had the tea .The room was bland with corporate style oak tables which had seen better days . Very out of keeping compared to the decor of the rest of the hotel . The room needed to feel far more opulent to make the afternoon tea feel special . Changing the tables would be a very good start. It’s a shame as we enjoyed the food but the environment of the room let it down .We would return if some improvements could be made to the room .

We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast. The dinner was outstanding; 3 courses of beautifully presented, delicious food. The best meal out we have ever had. The room was fabulous too. A very comfortable super king size bed, spacious surroundings nicely decorated. A Norfolk gem!

My husband and I spent the night here for Valentine's. From the welcome on our arrival and throughout, the staff were all friendly and informative, polite and efficient. In particular Liam was outstanding. I can see why he's been shortlisted for an award, so much so, I too voted for him (Good luck!). The food was great, and the bed and pillow so comfortable, and I'm pretty fussy!! We shall definitely return, and sample the delicious looking afternoon tea next time. We'll done everyone!!

Stayed as a birthday treat and from start to finish all the staff were superb Friendly knowledgeable and above all committed to the hotel and the owners 100% I have never come across this at any other hotel! The food was also excellent from a light lunch to the stunningly good evening meal Will return !

The lounge area felt nice but the actual dining area felt a bit lacking in the decor and a bit spartan. Food was nice but didn't warrant the price tag. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One of the best steak dinners I have ever had. Stayed in this hotel for my birthday (which was roughly 2 years ago) and ate at the restaurant there too. I can't explain how good the food was' one of the best meals I've ever had. Staff were incredible too. Super friendly. I will definitely be going back there if I get the chance to head up to Norfolk.Wanted to write this review as a way to say thanks. So thank you.

We stayed for one night at The Norfolk Mead Hotel after hearing very good reports from family and friends who had previously visited, the hotel is a beautiful building set in a lovely quiet area of Coltishall, entering the reception area you can feel a relaxing atmosphere, we were greeted with a friendly and polite member of the staff, room was clean and tidy with the usual tea and coffee making facilities, the bed was large and very comfy, bathroom descent size with good shower.Restaurant staff were polite and attentive, the presention and the quality of the food was amazing. Can highly recommend.
