Nice period building.Cosey room.Friendly, polite staff.Nice restaurant with good food.Secure free parking for residents.Situated overlooking the picturesque River cam.A stones throw from jesus Park.No lifts due to planning constraints being a listed building so if elderly or disabled tell them when booking or before you arrive.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Very kind and helpful staff, great choice of dishes, very quiet and nicely decorated room. Very close to center. Thanks again.

One particular lady behind reception was exceptionally customer focused, as was a gentleman, both on a Sunday. But I'm afraid our opening welcome was with a young lady who lacked any skills in that area, and, although the late Saturday evening barman did everything right, there was just no chemistry or charisma on show. The room was tiny for booking.com calling it a large room. The whole hotel is looking a little tired. A lovely conservatory spoiled by the fact the wooden frame is rotten in places. It needs a spruce up. Bed was fresh and clean, the shower flow hot and plentiful. Three and a half stars - I so want to award four but I can't, not quite.

Lovely place to stay if your around this area. A real charming place, it was like stepping into a tome machine. Really clean bathroom too. Didn't get a chance to eat the food though. As I was busy the next day.

Wonderful service and delicious food. The soup could have been hotter. But the roast main course was amazing. Lovely surroundings. The people who served our group were very swift and cheerful. Delicious coffee as well. Would recommend you to everyone.

If I was a contestant on Four In A Bed I would be ripping this place apart.I didn’t book here I booked the Ashley Hotel owned by the same company where I have stayed before. The Ashley is cheaper and very nice. However I was relocated here as the Ashley wasn’t able to be open. I wasn’t unhappy about this. What did surprise was my room here was identical to the cheaper room I would have had at the Ashley! Does having a bar and restaurant on site really merit the extra cost? There was no Welcome Folder in the room, to which my brief details from reception told me to refer. The safe in my room had a label saying “Broken”. The flush on the loo was temperamental. The fan in the bathroom was very loud - as it was in all the surrounding rooms. The WiFi was even more temperamental than the flush. Barely according a signal at best.BUT the bed was really comfortable and I got a good night’s sleep. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. And the Full English included with my deal was very good. I cook breakfasts for a living and this was up there with what I serve (hash browns and sausages not as good but bacon better).Given it was really bed and breakfast I was after I can’t really complain.

Guests need to be aware that the hotel like most other hostelries in Cambridge is short staffed, but during one night's stay it was easy to see the staff here put in extra effort to cope with the situation. The room was a bit sparsely equipped but adequate, and breakfast was so amusing I now have the germ of a short story of my experience. I could only admire the three Breakfast Room staff for a task that was made harder because they were understaffed.

Staff and bed were great. Decor was very 70s. Lots of burnt orange and swirly carpet designs. No air conditioning in the room which was very stuffy until it cooled down at night. Very handy location with lots of parking. Badly needs an update.

Parking is free at the back of the hotel (found along the side of the hotel with a red bar for height restrictions). Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a family room with a lovely view onto Jesus Green. Continental breakfast (selection of cereals, toast with 3 types of bread, croissants/pastries, fresh cut fruit (pineapple/melons), orange/grapefruit juice/cold water, tea/coffee in insulated jugs but not able to select type of tea/coffee, slices of cheese/ham) was included but have to pay ÂŁ9.95 for a cooked breakfast. Would have liked cold milk for cereal. Our rooms were fine but need cobwebs removing around windows, etc..

Stayed at this hotel for a 2 night break last week and it was lovely. Very helpful staff, a great choice of dishes for breakfast, and the room overlooking the river and Jesus Green was large with a very good bathroom. Very well situated, within very easy and quick access to the centre and all attractions. We will definitely be staying there again.
