Burleigh Arms Public House in Cambridge

Excellent pub just off Midsummer Common and the river. First trip was due to a recommendation; return will be based on the very nice feel, Wells selection on cask and decent outdoor seating. This pub took things in a slightly more interesting direction than some of the more mainstream or uni-based options. If you're looking for a good spot with a warm, modernized look, give it a try.

The most important thing: the food. Oh boy it was good! The vibe is cool and relaxed with music in the background. We really liked the oak tables. They have alsoa beer garden.The staff is friendly and polite, not taking offence that I thought his British accent sounded Aussie to me😅 Definitely going back!

I love this place. It is only a few minutes walk from my flat. The food quality is actually pretty high for a pub. I loved their scallops and their mussels. It is a nice place to watch football games. The ambiance is a charming, but not cramped pub.

By far the best pub and restaurant I have ever been too, the service was absolutely spot on, the food was to die for, the drinks were strong and good quality drinks, if I lived closer I would be here every week enjoying the atmosphere 1000/10 would recommend you try it here!!!!

Great little pub with some good food to go with it. The atmosphere here is perfect especially when you can get there with not too many people around.

We had an impromptu family dinner on a Wednesday night. The service was great. Not too close and not forgotten about. Just right. The calamari starter with samphire was perfect. Moules frites was similarly excellent and my fillet steak (cooked blue) was beautifully tender. The dauphinoise potatoes were lovely too. The children's fish and chips were greatly enjoyed by my daughter. Desserts for the two of us who still had room were a great finish.Many thanks to the staff and the new landlady who made us very welcome.

We arrived early and acknowledged this to the barman but no real response, so we bought drinks and went to wait in the beer garden. The place seemed busy. Nearer our booking time, we asked to be seated and were. Food order taken quickly enough. About forty minutes later and no sign of our food. Other tables arriving after us, seemed to be served. We chased our order and ten minutes later our lukewarm starter arrived. We opted to just eat it. Whilst waiting another thirty minutes for our main, one couple walked out complaining about service, and another couple approached the bar to complain, again about service. When our main did arrive, we ate it watching other diners complaining either to staff or to other diners. The staff seemed genuinely stressed - rushing back and forth to the kitchen, whilst trying to placate irate diners. Overall, service seemed to be in chaos. Something clearly happened today, we know not what. On leaving, we had our bill reduced for us in recognition of the poor service, which was appreciated. A real shame - the main was very good, and the starter tasty. Service hopefully a one-off due to circumstances.

Hands down best pub in East England! Exceptional food, professional staff and black sheep on tap! Easily 5 stars.Update:Visited again after 11 months of lockdown and my favorite burger in Cambridge has been changed.The big portobello mushroom is no longer there replaced by small sliced mushrooms. Also there is a tomato slice added with some weird sauce as well, which in my opinion doesn't really work that well.
