This is my 'local' when I'm in Cambridge, so I've been here dozens of times. It's not just the coffee - which is well made, always - and it's not just the food - which is tasty and original, not pre-packed. It's the atmosphere of welcoming, the sense of a good place to take a well needed break. It's small. Tiny, really. Sometimes the best places are like that. But there's a seat or two outside, a view of the church, and good company to be had, even if you're not in a chatty mood. And if it's full, come back later. You'll be glad you did.

Considering the reviews, I don't know if I hit on a bad day, but the coffee was undrinkable. The milk frother nozzle wasn't cleaned before being used in my flat white and had a layer of old milk on it. The milk itself was from a large jug and therefore not specific for flat white either. The coffee wasn't tamped properly so the water flowed through the coffee without fighting for the flavour. Had to leave the full cup on the table and go find good coffee elsewhere.

Excellent, top-notch brownies! It's in a nice peaceful spot next to the Church, ideal if you prefer a quieter cafe than the bustling town centre ones on a busy day.

Popped in for a quick espresso whilst on a walk. Based on the reviews and ratings I was really expecting a great espresso.Unfortunately, the cup was really not that great. Over extracted, as can be evidenced in the amount of liquid nearly double what I would expect from an espresso. Overall very bad taste.Wouldn't recommend unfortunately. Nice spot nonetheless.

The most charming coffee shop in Cambridge. Owner is friendly , he seem to know all of his clients. Definitely coming back more often.

Best coffee in Cambridge & friendliest barista you’ll ever come across. Spent almost every morning chatting and enjoying a brew at Espresso Lane.

Lovely staff with some indoor seating. Plenty of gluten free options for food both sweet and savoury, strong cup of coffee too

Nice cafe in the center of Cambridge University. It’s quite pleasant and quiet, despite being close to a big street, and their coffee was pretty good (and strong!). The service was friendly and fast. It’s quite small though, so don’t count on finding space for large groups.
