Golden Wok in Cambridge

Excellent duck pancakes, duck not greasy at all and was a good size. Ingredients fresh. Despite some of the other reviews, I found the reception very friendly. Portions great. Chow mein was super. I'll definitely be back.

One of the best Chinese takeaways in all of Cambridge. I've lived in Cambridge since I was a kid and been a customer of The Golden Wok for over twenty years. If you don't believe me, try them out, you won't be disappointed.Delicious food and generous portions.Deep fried shredded beef in chilli sauce is a personal favourite of mine but the other items on the menu are all prepared beautifully as well. I could eat there every day quite happily.Five stars!!!

Tasty food at fair prices. Nice sweet and sour chicken balls and chow mein. Easy to order online and fast and efficient collection service.

New to the area thought would try our local chinese takeaway. Amazing food and great customer service will definitely be coming back 😀

I would’ve like the opportunity to try the food however I was totally put off by the inappropriate members of staff at the front desk. Murmuring between each other about me and my partner and clearly picking and choosing who they’d like to greet when walking through the front door.It’s just awkward when you catch someone talking about you as you’re trying to plan a meal to takeaway.

Great local takeaway, respectable prices and great quality. Chicken balls had the perfect texture, lovely and 'golden'. Wish they would do salt and chilli chips. Free prawn crackers with our order which is always welcome. Special fried rice was tasty too.Frankly the chips were slightly underwhelming - lovely texture but could do with a touch of seasoning.

Really, not a great Chinese Takeaway, I'm unhappy to report. Not the most expensive place - but - that's obviously because the quality is low. Low prices, low quality.Very rude staff! Saw the 'chef' or at least one of them, pick up our pancake rolls with his bare hands, and attempt to shake & squeeze some of the excess grease off. I asked the girl behind the counter if his hands were clean, to which I got a very sarcastic answer of "yes they're clean", and then she rolled her eyes as she walked back in.Now, in a pandemic, with customers having to stand outside whilst waiting for their food, and wear masks etc, doing the above is actually quite unpleasant.I've tried it there twice, and on the first occasion, the chow mein I ordered was, for want of a better word, burnt. The noodles had a really smoky & burnt flavour, and the edges of some of the noodles were hard. The vegetable pancake rolls are literally dripping in grease - and I mean dripping! The bottom of the bag had a good couple of centimetres of just oil swimming around!Second time it was just as bad, without having to write an essay.Personally, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

After anything nearby Chinese kitchen, I am afraid of anything with a new of ‘golden’. Out of convenience, we chose this kitchen tonight and food was like wow. Although it still seems far from super local Cantonese food but the food gave me such comfort that I couldn’t find anywhere else in Cambridge. It came with the crackers :)))) thank you. The house special fried rice is GOD! So much veggies and assorted meats and prawns! Prawns.
