The food is very bad, yellow water instead or=tadka dal and stale breadDO NOT GO HERE OR ORDER FROM HERE, THE FOOD THAT THESE GUYS ARE SELLING IS NOT INDIAN ITS SOMETHING ELSE, because Indian food is delicious unlike this and the person who was on the line referring himself as the owner at the moment was very rude and wasn't admitting his fault, please do not order food from here until and unless you are in a mood to throw the money! Here are some pictures of yellow water and stale bread which is their specialty!

This place has been our go to place for past 20 years, consistently great food and service. Price is very competitive too, considering cost of a basic fish and chips these days ! Highly recommend this place, owner is a lovely guy too! Open kitchen means that you can see the chefs at work! Everything is freshly made. Well done Maharani

I never had that bad experience before with a curry house. I was waiting 2 hours for my food and it was not even worth it, but quite the opposite. First of all ,They delivered wrong food and after they wanted to charge for what I ordered on first place. The guy on the phone was rude and not suited for hospitality job. I'm giving you a really good advice; save money for somewhere where you the customer get respect that you deserve!!!

Beautiful souls serving delicious Indian cuisine. Maharani is sincerely appreciated. Their fresh Indian cuisine (in a sit-down restaurant) would be double the price. We are truly fortunate to have them. (Always with their generous portions as well!)A jewel on Cherry Hinton road. Please support this local business! :)

Dear MaharaniWe ordered from you this evening via the online system, for delivery, but our order did not contain the Pilau rice. This basically ruined the meal which we had paid £36 for.We only noticed the error after the delivery man had left and so there was nothing we could do and calling you to get it delivered would have left our food going cold. We have had a few issues in the past with orders from you, turning up late or the bill from the delivery driver being above what we had ordered, the driver is usually in a rush and says he has no way of checking what we ordered - this is not good enough. All these previous things we have kind of shrugged off because the food has generally been good - I'm afraid tonight was the last last straw and we will not be ordering from you again - I will also be posting the contents of this email as an online Google review.Sorry but you have let us down too often. Please try and improve your service otherwise I cannot see how your business can survive.P Bradley

I rang up to place an order for collection. I thought just before confirming the order that I confirm that the order comes with a 10% discount, as adverstised on their website. I was met with a rude no. When I queried why, considering it was on their website I was told that apparently the discount was supposed to have been removed. And they won't honour what is stated unless the order is placed online. Very rude and arrogant management who clearly don't have a clue about what they are doing. They are happier to pay charges for people to order online then honour advertised promotions.. ridiculous!

My favourite classic English style Indian Takeaway! I have been getting a curry from this place on average once a month for the past five years. Before I go on you must understand that I love "proper or authentic Indian food". I have worked in India for several months and been to various parts of the country loving the food (it is one of the best cuisines of the world obviously). However, the English style Indian takeaway is not the same thing and it is a mistake to compare the two as they are totally different entities.Maharani offers huge portions of tasty, heavy and if you want spicy curries. Highlights for me are the Mazza chicken (with strong tandoori flavour) and they do the best palak (somtimes referred to as Sag) paneer.Honestly next time you fancy a takeaway curry or want to try something new, give this place a go!If you want authentic Indian food go to the "Rice Boat" or somewhere else but trust me you won't get a better "ruby murry" than a Makarani in Cambridge!

Good food, friendly service. We get meals from here regularly and have never had a bad experience. Always order from the pub next door and collect on our way home - works a treat. Love the chicken sagwalla. Worth noting the portions are quite large.
