Really nice cafe located in Great St Mary's Church. Just in front of Trinity college, so not hard to find. Quite good for a meet up with friends.

I am not a cinnamon fan but this one appears irresistible. And I was not disappointed by my choice. The layers are crispy with a subtle sweetness that brings out the charms of cinnamon. Heavenly. The almond croissant is another favorite! For the wonderful butter crumble it’s worthwhile to work out extra hard later in the day. I also never say no to Portuguese egg tarts… Flaky, not too heavy in sweetness or cream.I had been here more than a decade ago as a kid, and it’s so nice to see how the place remains beautiful and cozy as I remembered it.Lunch options are a bit high in calories but I am just going to pamper myself with cheese macaroni…

Pleasantly surprised: very nice fresh food and efficient and helpful staff despite of the fact we visited at peak time and there was a long queue. Well done, guys, and thank you!

The most beautiful old church setting, lovely staff (despite grouchy manager), food vastly improved from pre-covid times, order process still dumb as hell, zero interest in staff wearing masks (22 Dec 2021). Very impressed in the dear old lady in front of me who expertly and politely shamed her server into wearing a mask.

Great atmosphere sitting on a padded pew at a table in this partially converted church. Great food and coffee. Service was top notch too. Would definitely recommend a visit- great selection of cakes!

Been coming here for several years now, great cafe. Set in a former church with a sympathetic implementation of modern design features and materials complementing the historic building. Had a chicken and chorizo cassoulet which was so generously full of quality ingredients I wondered if the dish was clearing a profit for them. It's normally busy enough to create a good atmosphere but not so busy you feel crowded out. The seats extend into the former chancel area although that area was shut off last time I went. The setting tends to attract a more bookish demographic.

A busy and nice cafe set inside a church. Lots of seating inside. Portions were very generous. Jacket potato heaped with topping. The vegan sausage roll was tasty and the scone was superb

Lovely location and beautiful building, however, not the best place to visit if you have an allergy and want to double check you’re safe!Took me 20 minutes to order as I had two members of staff (really kind waiter and nice lady taking orders and making coffees) asking about whether my meal was Dairy Free…However, the manager (i assume he was the manager) was getting ‘fed up’ of being asked and kept informing me he had ‘been through this’ with me and that he ‘cannot help if something happens as there is dairy in the kitchen’.I totally understand that kitchens have dairy in them, as every kitchen at every restaurant/cafe I go to… however, he acted like it was a chore and was not accommodating whatsoever! The lady at the front of house and the waiter would get 5 stars, but the manager has lost them 3 due to his attitude and lack of care.Food was gorgeous though, recommend for the food, just don’t let the manager ‘undermine’ you or have an attitude if you’re asking about an allergy/intolerance!

Great for refreshments like coffee and cake after walking for awhile. Seating inside and outside. Beautiful historic building with two huge stained glass windows either side.
