Midsummer House in Cambridge

Good food and service. However BEWARE, one member of our party had to cancel last minute due to COVID, and we were charged the full price for even though we informed at arrival. We were not informed that we would be charged for missing person or given the option to have the extra meal that we paid for. It’s a big shame. One would expect a bit more understanding and upfront behavior from such a fine establishment. Left a bitter taste in the end to what was a good experience. Would have been a big fan and returned often but as greet is the main motive of the the owners will never return!

A gem in the middle of Cambridge. My husband and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary with a dinner here and absolutely loved it. The tasting menu was generous, beautifully plotted, and saturated with flavour and surprises. The last time we ate at a two-starred restaurant was at our favorite, Bouley, in NYC, our former home. Midsummer House, with its food, relaxed but professional staff (no awkward hovering or over-formality), and gorgeous location will become a regular for us. Thanks again!

Me and my Dad had an amazing meal here together. Probably the best we've had together.It is very expensive, even compared to other two stars and some three but in my opinion very much worth it for the food. The service additionally was fantastic I suppose the wine pairing seemed over priced if I am to be critical. The Sommelier was engaging, fun and knowledgeable but some of the wines themselves although delicious, didn't seem so worth the money.This is shadowed by the 5 star experience and we were happy to pay (next time though we may purchase a bottle or two instead though).

We were lucky to be able to secure a table while in Cambridge for my birthday. The experience from arrival to the end was amazing. The tasting menu with wine pairing was truly delicious and inventive with great engagement from everyone front of house. A wonderful memory we will both treasure.

An amazing experience from start to finish. We were gifted a voucher for my partner’s 40th birthday so chose the tasting menu during lunch service. A truly sensational range of dishes and creativity. The standard of service was impeccable and we were made to feel looked after but not too fussed over. Would recommend for foodies who want to treat themselves to an afternoon of luxury!

Amazing experience, food was fantastic and service was outstanding. To quote my partner the "duck leg pancake was the best thing she has ever had in her mouth" 🤣

Every course was perfect, nothing to fault, service is impeccable. My favourite has got to be the cheese course, beetroot with mustard. Keep it up, well deserved **We will be back

An absolute privilege to finally eat here. The ambience of the restaurant is outstanding. The food was the best all 4 of us have ever tasted and the wine pairing was remarkable. All the staff were superb but special mention must go to the Somelier whose knowledge was remarkable and to Molly a charming and warm human being. Thank you Daniel and all your staff for an experience all 4 of us will remember forever 👏👏

I had the best meal of my life! All the dishes were amazing and the sommelier did an exceptional work pairing wine with them. Highly recommend if get a chance to try.
