Good ambience, friendly staff. I ordered a prawns biriyani, it was little less spicy than expected, but overall it was a good experience of Indian Khana in a bangladeshi restaurant. Name is changed to Rajbelash, so dont expect to find safron brasserie name board

The staff at the Saffron were so accommodating, polite and efficient in arranging and serving our company's 46-cover booking. Food was great and we were overall just so impressed! Would definitely recommend, especially if you're a large party looking for a great dining experience

Unpleasant experience overall. Food tasted bland, restaurant was cold and even though the place was empty - we kept getting people seated almost next to us making us feel cramped and uncomfortable at the lack of privacy. The staff stood around staring and smirking whilst we ate our starters and kept approaching us every 5 minutes asking if we were okay which was unecessary considering we'd already been asked the same question 5 minutes previously. When we asked for the dessert menu after having eaten a tasteless, lukewarm, chicken biryani we were told there was only one item on the dessert menu as they were changing it and other items were out of stock. At the end there was a really long wait -after what seemed like constant bother from the staff - to call a waiter over to ask for the bill.Definitely won't be visiting again!

I came to Saffron Brasserie at 7:30 on a Friday evening to wind down with a meal and possibly a beer by myself. With several empty tables of 6 and 4 seats (40 seats total), they would not seat me because the tables were all "booked". I think they just didn't want to give up a 4 seater table for a party of one - and were reserving them in case imaginary patrons came in. I understand this practice, but still find this to be unacceptable. In the twenty minutes that I waited for my food, only one of those "booked" tables was filled. I took the food for take-away only to find out it was average.

Hated curries, went here for a work outing on a whim and now I bloody love 'em. These guys know how to do it. Great service friendly banter with the staff. Generally a great atmospheres. The outside of the restaurant is much to be desired but I'm not eating the building. Definitely a restaurant worth going to!

Friendly staff, who don't hover or pester you constantly. Gorgeous, flavourful food in decent sized portions. The cost is about right for the food and service. If you want to feel well fed, this is definitely the place.Quite a big selection of dishes, desserts and drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic). Well worth a visit.

This is the best Indian Restaurant I've been to. The food was absolutely delicious, the meat was tender and the sauce was a nice mix of flavour and heat. I went with a large group and the staff coped impeccably, with food being served to everyone at around the same time. The price was very competitive, too.

A place described by Curry Life magazine as one of the hidden gems of Cambridge. The unimpressive looking restaurant from the outside has had a lot of work done on it since the last time The Cambridge Curry Crew were in here. It clearly had a paint job so looked very fresh and new.The place is large and open which gives lots of space and an open feel. We were seen to immediately and shown to a table at the window. We enjoyed people watching while waiting for our food and being near the window let in lots of light. We did notice however that we were right next to the traffic lights which ended up becoming quite a nuisance as we could hear the thing going "beep beep beep" every couple of minutes. The place does not have double glazing so you could really hear it buzzing. As I went to the other side of the room you could hear it just as well. I find it hard to believe this hasnt been brought up by customers before as its very irritating. The service was of a standard pace. We got our poppadoms quite quickly and they were very nice and thick, though it did only come with beetroot, onions and mango chutney. I had to ask for lime pickel but they were good enough not to charge us which sometimes isnt the case in other places (Chutney Joes in Cambourne!). The portions were generous and well prepared. We only managed to use up the onions by the end and that was just at the end of using up our poppadoms so it worked out quite well.Once we had ordered our meal we were pleased to see that the food portions were of high quality and generous sizes. My vindaloo tasted delicious and was very hot. My friends vegetarian meal was consumed with little fuss also.Once we had finished we had our plates and cutlery taken away, we felt under no pressure to leave at any time and it was quite relaxed, though this might be something to do with the fact is was empty. We were given some chocolates after our meal but sadly werent lucky enough to be given hot towels. I was not impressed by this as the hot towels are another one of those cultural differences which makes Indian restaurants that more interesting than the rest. It was made particularly worse by the fact I was sweating quite a lot after a very hot and very satisfying vindaloo.By this point the constant beeping of the traffic lights were driving be CRAZY, so we decided to leave. I suggest going during the evening when there are less people crossing the road. We went during lunch time and it was quite busy on the streets.

Have been coming here with my wife since moving to Cambridge 5 years ago. The food is good, the service is wonderful. We've moved to another part of town but still manage to make the trek down to this place as we are so well treated.
