Taj Tandoori in Cambridge

What a gem of a restaurant. As soon as we walked in we were seated and Saeed made recommendations and wow his recommendations were absolutely amazing. Everything we tried was so so good. The presentation ... Ambiance .... Staff... All top notch. Don't bother going to the fancy London restaurants guys... Book a table here you won't be disappointed...

Probably the best Indian food that I have had in Cambridge so far.The service was amazing and the food delicious.If you want to dine on a Saturday you are likely to need a reservation, but Sundays are less busy.They do not serve alcohol but you are allowed to bring your own.I’ll definitely be back.

True gem in Cambridge! The food was very tasty and the staff is soooo friendly and lovely. Highly recommend the crispy kale as a starter!

Spent an evening meet up with friends in a busy atmospheric restaurant. Food great with some dishes new to us. Staff friendly and courteous with lots of advice on what to choose. Best of all, being the only one to chose a starter, we were offered complimentary starters to keep me company! Great place to chose for visitors to Cambridge.

Had a lovely time here! The food is authentic and spicy and has a range of experimental dishes, enough to keep you coming back. Portion sizes are decent too and it’s great value for money! The owner gave us suggestions too which we appreciated a lot! 😊

Excellent from start to finish. Delicious food and fantastic service.A warm welcome on arrival.. and sat towards the back of the restaurant which has a nice atmosphere.The Taj has some different items on the menu to many Indian restaurants which was refreshing.Syed recommended the Kale starter, but my husband hates kale... with that said, Syed insisted that we try the dish on the house sure that he would be converted...He was right. The dish was really good.  Crispy kale, mint,  pomegranate, red onion, chickpeas,  potato and yoghurt. Served cold.  Full of flavour and really nice.We shared 2 further starters of Chicken 65 and lamb samosas.  Both very good.For mains we shared the indo-chinese garlic chilli chicken and the Delhi Style Butter Chicken. Garlic rice and a peshwari naan.The chicken in the butter chicken was cooked to perfection. It appeared to have been cooked separately from the sauce and a result meant it wasn't dry or overcooked. The peshwari naan bread was very good, just like those I ate in India,  light not doughy and proper coconut not the usual paste everywhere else seems to use.Then a first for me.  Some interesting desserts.. we shared Almond Pista Crumble. Delicious jam with crumbly almonds served cold with a little warm custard. Very tasty.The mango lassi is also excellent.Its a bring your own alcohol place if you don't have any there's a small shop a couple of mins walk away which obviously gets to cash in on people visiting.The service was excellent very personable. I like the sense of humour on the menu re the spice levels..an excellent time.  Thank you so much.

Exquisite food and service, the Pulled Chicken Tikka Burger tased phenomenal! The warm ambience and friendly staff made the experience well memorable. Highly recommend and most certainly will be visiting again soon!

I feel so grateful to have Taj tandoori in Cambridge. The one and only place that makes me happy! We ordered a variety of starters and they were all competing with one another: All 5 star, all fresh. I forgot to take pictures of mains….Besides the amazing food, the staff are professional, attentive and very warm-hearted. They have a really welcoming environment, beautiful design, don’t miss out because it’s a win-win. Prices are fair for what you get too.

Taj Tandoori is truly a special place for dining out or even ordering a takeaway. The food is exceptionally good and so is the service which is truly rare to find a establishment which has both.Syed and the team run a relaxed feel at home experience offering up great recommendations, which can steer you away from the typical just ordering what you have every time. So if you are a novice to the vibrant world of Indian cuisine or a spice expert you will definitely leave Taj feeling very fulfilled.Consistently delicious food with the warmest hospitality Taj is truly my family’s favourite restaurant.

Excellent friendly service. Nice mango lassi, poppadoms perfect and Ammas pulled lamb samosas to die for! Lovely mains (some surprising hot 🤣) and a selection of sweet dishes. BYOB if wished which is always nice. We will be back!
