One of the best places in cambridge If you want a nice pub especially on night, it closes by 1 a.m but unfortunately after 11 pm they are not allowed to have music anymore.

Dystopian Nightmare!I just went down to the Blue Moon because I wanted to see the stand up comedy event and have a pint. But after the barperson poured my beer and I tried to pay with a £20 note, he told me that they only accept card payments. What kind of dystopia has the UK become? You're like frogs in water being brought slowly to the boil!Let me explain...I am here just for a few weeks, from Spain, to work. Every time I use my Spanish bank card I get charged extra fees in Spain, so, naturally, I only pay with cash.Sure, I could have whipped out my Spanish card and made an exception, however, an exception here and an exception there all adds up to money that my Spanish bank would only pocket. But my complaint doesn't end there. The Blue Moon's policy of only accepting card payments is exclusionary. Not everyone has a bank account! What about buskers, artists and tradespeople who get paid in cash? Waiterstaff who want to spend their tips and any other person who doesn't agree with the electronification/virtualisation of money. As a place that markets itself as an alternative venue supporting the arts and music, I can't understand how the owners haven't taken this into account! Also, you lose business! I probably would have consumed 2 or 3 pints. I had a few friends (also living in Europe with European bank cards) coming to join me and who, between them, would have consumed at least two pints each while watching the gig.And how do the barpeople get tips? There's no loose change to give them with card payments! I'd much rather tip a waiter with some loose change than pay a bank fee to ING for an international transaction! The Blue Moon seems like a pretty interesting place to hang out and see some music and comedy. Despite that, I left the joint, feeling frustated and thirsty, with my crisp twenty pound note in my pocket while the unpayable fresh pint started to go warm on the bar.

My favourite pub in Cambridge! Friendly staff and great service. Always a wide variety of great beers to choose from. Can’t wait to go back 👍

Girlfriend ordered drinks and got charged twice. I get it, things go wrong but so much hassle to get it sorted, seemed like a training issue as the staff didnt know what to do.Then decided to order pizza, you have to use a website, couldnt get it to work so just went to the bar, bear in mind I can see the kitchen and could have shouted to the guy my order, bot no, use the mobile website or nothing. Crazy.Plenty of decent pubs in Cambridge, this isn't one of them. Avoid.

Absolute belter of a find.We were on a day trip to Cambridge to see Bianca Del Rio at the Corn Exchange. A lovely team member from Brewdog Cambridge Anna recommended visiting The blue Moon. Ours was a day vist, so it was lovely and peaceful sitting outdoors in the sunshine. Huge selection of beers and staff knowledgeable..Gem of a find

Visited here as part of 'The Cambridge Beer Quarter' beer festival, one of six pubs participating.

The pizza by Oscar is fantastic, arrived quickly, delicious and good value! The pub is small and a bit confusing about getting to garden but overall good pub

Definitely a great place to stop for a beer and pizza! With an extensive selection of ampersand brewery’s pale ales, lagers and more unusual beers, the pub is a popular spot on a Friday evening.

Booked the Blue Moon black room at the beginning of Feb 2022 for a party to celebrate our wedding. They were fantastic! Great service, happy for us to bring all our own decorations, cake etc, and a large group of toddlers!Plus Oscar agreed to come in specially in the evening to make us all fantastic pizza! (Including excellent vegan ones). I can't reccomend highly enough.

Possibly our favourite of the many bars we've visited in Cambridge over recent years. Brilliant hosting, friendly and welcoming staff, perfect tunes, twinkly lights and candlelit tables create a fab ambience and the nachos were amazing! Great pizza too (which we took home as our eyes were bigger than our bellies!). Handwritten messages on the pizza boxes were a nice touch. Amazing selection of gins. Great outside space too. Highly recommend xx
