The Chancellors Restaurant in Cambridge

visited Cambridge for a few days, what a fantastic place, and my Granddaughter suggested to go to the Senate bar/Bistro. previously having the run of the mill other meals when out,we were in for a treat. the food was far above the 5 star rating and the service was super. its a nice homely place and they go out of their way to help you with anything. I didn't get a chance to say how much i loved it, we were the 4 hungry 6 pm guests. hope we didn't talk to loud , so with all the thanks from Leeds ,well done and hope to see you again some time. xxx Mike

Impromptu visit at lunchtime. Very busy, possibly helped by terrestrial rain, but comfortable and good service. Food was outstanding for a small informal eaterie. Will definately call in again when in Cambridge.

We had a quiet early evening meal here. The food was great - pan fried cod, minute steak, and ravioli - and the service was friendly. They serve loose leaf tea too, which my wife prefers.

Great food, the patatas bravas, calamari and mussels were good. We also had the chilli linguine but it was a bit bland for my taste.

My go to restaurant for a meal out in Cambridge. Service is top notch and food is so delicious. Meant to take a picture before I started eating but got too excited!

We've read about Senate's brunch offering in various publications, and even though my wife and I enjoy a good brunch, we never quite ventured into Senate. We decided to take advantage of the great weather and walk into town. Invariably this always ends up in us trying to find a place to have dinner. The outside seating looked inviting and a quick gander at the menu sealed the deal. The menu is small but diverse, catering for everyone. Small menus are sign of freshly prepared food. I had the Cod, and my wife ordered the chicken. Presentation was unique e the taste didn't disappoint. Service was excellent and engaging. The diners next to us had different pasta dishes, both looked amazing. Unpretentious, well prepared delicious food. We'll done for achieving a difficult balance.

High quality, well presented food with excellent service. Visited yesterday with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience at The Senate. From the beautiful setting across from St Mary's church to the wonderful service from all the staff. It was complimented with delicious food for all my party from all courses. I would highly recommend a visit and will look to return in the future.

Delicious Food and Amazing Service.It was super sunny on the day i went but when the sun went away, it did get cold. But the restaurant provides comfy clean blankets which makes you feel nice and warm.The food, would really recommend Chilli Cheese King Prawn and Wild Mushroom Gnocchi Also how can I miss out on the amazing view 😍

The Bistro is located outside St. Mary's Church and sitting outside watching time go by is really pleasant. The food was delicious and full of flavour. The staff were very professional, accommodating and adhering to Government guidelines.The only critique i would say is that it took quite some time for the food to arrive, but otherwise all fine.

Beautiful, satisfying and delicious comfort food and friendly staff. What more could you ask for?The service is efficient but not pushy.The prices are on the higher side but well worth it and no more expensive than the average prices anyway.There are choices for veggies too. I took the mushroom gnocchi with red pesto and cream sauce topped with parmesan and it was gorgeous.
