We were stopping locally overnight and were looking for somewhere to eat.A bit of searching on the net and we decided on the Chestnut Tree.I'm so glad we did,the staff were very friendly. The food we had was wonderful and very well priced.I would recommend anyone to visit this lovely village pub.

Such a warm friendly place with wonderful home cooked Sunday Lunches and desserts. Pre-booking a table is always best, as they do get busy, if you're good - that's what happens!Highly recommended.

A lovely log burner entices the warm reception as well as the staff. A nice selection of Camra Ales & a good variety of ciders to choose from.

A really nice meal. Made very welcome, good food and at a very fair price. Be careful though, as the burgers and desserts are huge! Left very full and happy.

Friendly local pub with a good selection of guest beers. The pies looked good. I had the fish which was breaded, not battered. Two large fillets so good value. If I had read the menu properly I may have had another choice, but that's just personal preference. I like the way they do full portions, or smaller basket portions. I will be going back. Honest food in a nice atmosphere at a good price.

As a newcomer to any pub especially a village one it can feel slightly awkward. I never experienced this here. An instantly warm welcome greeted me. There is a great variety of choice drinks wise including local ales. The food is tasty and service was attentive but not intrusive. The juke box, pool table and dart board are all excellent additions to a fun night. The garden is also lovely for balmy summer evenings. Its facilities are all immaculate too. For a public house this is a refreshing rarity. Massive thumbs up.
