The Portland Arms in Cambridge

We just happened to stumble across this pub when walking back to our hotel from work. We ended up having a fantastic experience all round. We were invited to go in and watch a gig in the big stage area around the back in which we found a new favourite artist of ours, there was a fantastic range of drinks and we everybody there was super friendly. Couldn't have had a better night by accident

Great Venue with amazing live bands but The Meffs were the best

Should a national heritage site. It's been a stand out venue for years. Lots of excellent gigs ranging from well known bands to 1st gigs and the sound is always good quality. Beers decent with good range. Food is very good. Staff always friendly.

Wanted to see melt banana play but could not even get inside the room as it was packed out, very disappointing as I'd been looking forward to this, venue way too small! and even if you can get in, the aroma of folk who forgot to wash for a fortnight is evident, absolutely disgusting venue, decor right from the 80s, I mean, I did buy a drink, but I took it outside thinking it might be quieter, which it was for precisely 16 seconds before a crowd came out, only to fill the air with the smell of some dank bud, which was the last straw for me and just a horrible, horrible experience!

Great venue - mix of local, national and international acts. Saw Bodega last night (from New York) and they were excellent.

Brilliant pub and venue. Beer choice on draught was poor but there were several good options in the fridge.

Fantastic pub/venue. As a performer, the venue was perfect: great sound and PA, lovely backstage area. As a drinker, an amazing array of beers and ales.

I can only review the Portland based on drinks and gigs and both are awesome. Seen a few live events here, always well run and organised. Acoustics seem good. Drinks are the same as any other bar. Seems like a really nice, local pub with excellent events!

Fantastic night out , nice venue for both live music and drinks. There is a well stocked bar in the music room.

Great pub with strong live music influence. Solid sound system and good facilities, traditional pub to the front with saloon bar and 150-200cap venue to the rear all refurbished
