Cafe Max in Castle Point

First time eating here and it was well worth it! Service was excellent and staff was so lovely and worked quick to get your food to you.. This was a birthday celebration for our friend and we all enjoyed ourselves. Great prices 😊

We visired the cafe today, We had the grilled goats cheese panzanella salad. One word: amazing !! Staff friendly and service was good too. Well worth a visit.

We visited Cafe Max today (New Year's Eve) and had the most amazing meal as always! Food was exceptional and the service is unlike any other. I feel very privileged to have worked for the Cafe several years back while completing my PhD; it's rare to find an employer that offers so much support to their employees. Both of my children have since worked for Mark and Karin and it has set them up for life in the real world. We've all said that if we could work for them forever, we absolutely would! If more employers were like them, the world would be a better place! They always make sure that the staff get 100% of the tips (a rarity in the hospitality sector nowadays). So, if you're looking to eat fabulous food in a place that truly makes you feel welcome and you know invests in their staff, this is the place to go!

Just been announced on the news that owners are not allowed to keep tips!!! Which is the case in this cafe, my daughter worked here since she was only 16 for 3 years, to be told she would never mount to nothing!!!! She is now training as a dental nurse.. Karen & the husband always kept the tips, my daughter was paid her wages out of the tips!!! So as the food is overpriced do not leave a tip because you will only line the owners pockets!! To the customers they come across as lovely people but are bullies!!, that reduces my daughter to tears daily!!! Also her boyfriend was threatened for standing outside on the pavement waiting for her to finish her shift.. If this treatment was against your son or daughter you would feel the same as me.. The owners are not nice people to work for unless your giving them money for their overpriced food.
