Malaya in Castle Point

We have been here before it was nice food was good however when I called up to book a table for us and my 2 kids (under 5) and that lady on the phone said I am not allowed to book a table for the dinner because I have young kids, i was bit surprised she said to me that "you know people come here and they will get disturb by kids walking around,crying etc so we don't allow kids for dinner you can come on Sunday. It's restaurant policy". They haven't mentioned this on their website. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I understand there are some restaurants don't allow kids but those are very fine dining restaurants and they do say on the website that you can't come with kids.

Went to this restaurant last night with my fried and the food was so good,that we’ve ordered take away the next day. Staff is very friendly and professional. We will be definitely going there again soon.

An exterior that belies the treasure within. Immaculate interior and amazingly helpful staff. Great authentic food and every bite is a treatI'd highly recommend the satay chicken and salt & chilli prawns, as well as the beef rendang. This was our first visit but will not be our last!

My friends and I came here last night for dinner and it was an amazing meal from start to finish. The dishes had loads of flavour and beautiful spice to them and the cocktails were delicious and flavourful as well. There was a great range of dishes available and everyone was thrilled with every single thing that was ordered. The staff were really friendly and fun and the restaurant itself had a great atmosphere. We will definitely return!

First time visiting tonight after all of our neighbours recommended it. Wow what a beautiful meal we had. The staff are so incredibly friendly and informative and the food is so fresh and tasty. They even sung happy birthday to my partner which was a lovely touch with some complimentary cheesecake. Already talking about how we can’t wait to go back!! X

It was a very busy weekend night so the place was quite crowded and loud. Despite being so busy and chaotic, all staff was amazing, professional, helpful and polite. The food was delicious, very affordable prices and delicious cocktails! It was ny first time trying malaya, but my experience convinced me to come back again

Still one of my favourites of all time. Service is always fantastic. Food is exceptional. I could eat the traditional roti cani accompanied with sweet chutney and deep Malaysian curry sauce daily without getting bored of it. Be sure to book a table even on a week night as they are always busy. It's worth traveling here just for the starters.
