Oyster Bay in Castle Point

Never been before staff are friendly food is nice good portion sizes. Prices are reasonable have high chairs for young children . Can sit inside or outside if weather is nice .

Great Pizzas, 'home made' and very tasty... larger than we expected, for the price. Would recommend

Went to try out their new menu and check out the new decor. We had an antipasti board to start with and it was the biggest one I have had for that money, such good value for money. We then had a burger each and my son the sausage and mash. I was surprised when his meal came out and it was a proper sausage rather than a frozen one, and the new burger buns certainly went down a treat

Ordered a chicken burger and asked to only have the chicken and the bun at first they said we can’t change the menu because if too many people when I’m asking them to remove stuff but after that they come over with the burger full of mayo and lettuce and tomato if you want to go to this make sure you explain your order but good food

The refurb looks great, love the new fireplace and cosy chairs. Food great as always and lots on the menu to choose from!!

Recently reopened after a complete refurbishment. Is now a very good restaurant. The food and service has always been amazing here, but now with the addition of a larger menu, comfy seats and lovely decor. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you're on Canvey five star

We have been waiting for Oyster Bay to reopen after its face-lift. Its a much improved looking restaurant now. However good decor does not put bums on seats. I am told the menu is not yet finalised and I was really glad to hear that news. Considering the time the refit took the menu is a bit of a mish-mash. It looks to me if the menu is based on if it sells it stays and if not it could go, unless the menu organiser is going to be stubborn to admit their mistakes. If this is the case then I fear all will not end well. We left at approximately 7pm on a Wednesday night and left 3 others eating and one of these was a baby. Early days after a reopen I know but if this restaurant was a human it felt like it needed to be on life support.No deserts on the menu at the moment so if you are taking younger ones it looks like you can't even bribe them to behave with even an ice cream.

The service that I received today was absolutely abhorrent. My friend and I waited an hour for our meal and we had to wait and see everyone received their meal, eat it and leave right before us. Understandably we ordered Lamb Shank which may take some time to prepare. However, it should not have to take an hour. When I went to inquire with the staff the lady that responded to me was very much confrontational. I would understand if I’d approached her rudely but I was very nice and I just inquired as to what was happening. I had to ask her if I was doing anything wrong with trying to find out how longer we had to wait as it had already been 50 minutes. The chef came after 50 minutes and said they were making our meal. He told me that he would give take 5 minutes but we had to wait 10 minutes.It was explained to us that there is one chef and our food would take longer. But we were told it was going to take 15 minutes when we ordered. On top of that, after 30-49 minutes I expected that someone would come to ya and give us an update as to what was happening. But that was not the case, I had to do it myself and I was met with hostility.The meal was nice but the services could have been waaay better.
