The Benfleet Tandoori in Castle Point

Love this place.Been going there for years.Lovely food, really friendly service.

We went for a meal to this restaurant last night and were welcomed in from the friendly waiter. This was the first visit for a few years due to the pandemic. It hasn't changed much,it was a lovely meal with lovely staff. The food was excellent as well was the service. Would recommend this dining experience to the full. I’ve had a few good meals out of here recently but tonight’s has just let them down massively. Certain that was day old chicken I’ve just eaten. The popadoms was stale and the potato’s had seen better days. Shame really.

Booked a table on a Saturday night for 3 people. Were shown to our table and ordered our food and drinks after about half an hour a large party arrived of 10 people who hadn't booked . The Manager then requested we move so he could fit them in squeezing us in-between 2 other tables with no room to move , and expecting us to move our food and drinks halfway through our meal. When we complained to the Manager he couldn't care less we told him we were leaving and didn't pay a penny he just said whatever .terrible customer service. Will never go back again .

Absolutely amazing, possibly the best indian restaurant we have been to so far.The staff were extremely friendly, and patient, kept up high standards, and willing to make changes if anything wasn't up to perfection, the food was spectacular, perfectly seasoned and cooked, balanced spice and sweetness.Everything down to the pots the food was served in was authentic.There is an amazing feeling the second you walk through the door, a very friendly and welcoming feeling.Would 100% recommend.

This place has got to be the worst tasting Indian I have ever experienced. Couple that with the worst dining experience of my life.Dined as a table of 11, service was slow, 90 minutes between starter and Main. After 5 mins of eating food it was like I hadnt eaten anything (no flavours in mouth) Got more flavour from a packet of crisps.Whilst asking for an itemised bill, the Owner called he's co worker (Daughter) a C**T in earshot of many customers. Much so to one womans disliking she started to shout at him uncontrollably.Whilst this was not an excuse the bill was paid and then settled the day after. At this point it was noted £85 of food was added to the bill which wasnt ordered. It was a clear error as there was 15 mains on the receipt and 11 people. The owner was SHOCKING, did not want to know at all. There was no talking to him. AVOID lilke the plague unless of course you just dont like yourself or your fellow diners.Its only a 1 star as I cannot give less.

There are better looking restaurants close by but as far as food and service are concerned, this is the best. While the standard English/Indian dishes can be purchased and are excellent, there are a selection of real northern and southern Indian dishes on offer too which must be tried. One son is really fussy and even he labels this place in his top list for food. Dodge the good looking place a few yards up the hill and visit here, you won’t be disappointed.
