Bird in Hand in Central Bedfordshire

This place has new owners and they're lovely.. It was comfortable, modern and clean. Great quality live music here regularly too which is a bonus 👍🏻✨

Lovely new landlord, music at weekends and friendly locals. A real heart of the community.

Went there a couple of months ago for a beer as I was visiting family and was quite disappointed. The pub is very dated, with old, manky decor and seats, and looks like it’s in desperate need of a deep clean and a complete overhaul. The beer selection was pretty poor and for a pub of this quality I would expect the pints to be cheap at least…but surprise surprise, they aren’t. The toilets were pretty gross and the beer mats were fully stuck to the table. I would avoid this pub at all costs

Usually stop in here after golf at mount pleasant. Cheap pinta friendly staff. Dart board. Great garden. Haven't tried the food

People where friendly and helpful, however the room I stayed in desperately needed cleaned. Bed and sheets etc where clean but there was cobwebs everywhere, coffee had been spilt and partially cleaned up and the rest just left, generally disappointed because of the lack of cleanliness.

I would describe the bird in hand a very friendly pub , always welcoming people in and serving . The wake for my mother in law was brilliant and thoughtful and the staff was so good accommodating the Buffett and food. Thank you to Libby and Doug.X

Stayed here over the weekend. Can't praise it enough. Friday night there was entertainment and the locals made me feel so welcome and the staff were so friendly, made me feel part of the family. Saturday was mostly spent in their massive garden, was great to see families playing in the garden and with the music playing as well it was a great day. Before I left on the Sunday I stayed for the carvery, which I can recommend over and over again. Loads to choose from and cooked to perfection.Over all I loved the stay here, from the friendly locals, friendly staff and the owners were amazing and really made my stay a pleasant one. I have already booked to return. Thank you Libby and Doug for a great stay, see you soon.

Lovely friendly local. The Landlord and Landlady are very welcoming. The Sunday Carvery is delicious. Pub menu is great too, not frozen food. Definitely recommend the Steak. All freshly cooked. Natasha and Dana

The weekend carvery is really good, reasonably price. Roast potatoes are the best, so sweet, good gravy, the veg is simple and well (not over) cooked. Slightly tired decor. And finally - somewhere with clean toilets, it's not an obsession but it just amazes me how many places feel it is acceptable to subject customers to the third world.
