Great place for top quality Meats and frozen foods with a lovely cafe serving delicious homemade cakes, sandwiches, quiches, pastries etc. Not the cheapest but it's definitely worth it. Staff really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful too

A second visit to Harpers encountered some cultural issues. The staff had some problems understanding basic English. Words such as "Cornish pasty" and "steak" seemed - probably rightly - foreign to them. This caused an unnecessary delay when it came to ordering food - holding up the growing queue of would-be diners. The other issue - probably inevitable given the current economic situation - is that prices seemed to have increased. Nonetheless, the food was still tasty.

Excellent selection of frozen food, butchers and bakery items. Friendly and helpful. Outdoor and indoor seating is available. Good spot for afternoon tea. Chargepoint dual Type 2 charger. Plenty of parking.Great lunch in the cafe with grilled chicken skewers, steak sandwich, with fries and fresh tasty salad. The only blot was the ketchup: only 15% tomato content. Heinz needs to replace the jellied red vinegar packets provided.

A truly hidden gem. Coffee shop is fantastic as is the quality selection of food on offer, from the butchery to the frozen pies, what's not to love? Oh and they have Wookey Hole Cheddar, which I love. Thanks to all the lovely staff too, for being so welcoming.

Good food but expensive. Sat outside on a sunny day. Paved area dirty, unswept, weeds growing between flagstones and plant pots unkempt. Also very noisy as it’s almost on top of the M1. R Experience woilf have been better if the place didn’t look so drab and untidy.

Very nice place , a massive shame about the staff very rude and patronising.Visited there today for lunch with my husband, ordered the pulled pork bap for myself. When the food came it looked unattractive, given the last dregs of pork, however that was not the main issue it was cold in places and not re heated correctly and didn't fancy food poisoning. I took the food back explained it wasn't how I expected it to be . Overheard the waitress and chef making fun of my complaint so I turned and said it is not nice to talk about me. Not heated correctly don't want food poisoning they basically implied I was being awkward and talking about me as if I was not even there I informed them that I was a paying customer and if it was not for paying customers they would not have a job so treat people nicer.

We were in the area and wanted to have some coffee. This is a delightful and modest place. Spacious, very clean and good lighting!Good choice of menu at the café, great coffee and desserts! They have a wide range of meat and poultry! Please don't be alarmed with the prices, their prices reflect on the products. If your a lidl shopper, you have been warned... But you won't find these products at lidl!Customer service was amazing from start to finish. Friendly, polite and accommodating... It was nice to see there are people who don't get offended or worried what to say.We are definitely coming back! Please keep up the great service and products!

Sausage rolls are great. Nice place and very popular but the bacon sandwich at ÂŁ4.50 was just an embarrassment. Worst I've ever been served. Come on Harpers, you can do better than that, surely. Got a refund, no quibbles but left a little disappointed.

We came here today predominantly to get fruit and veg, however, does not cater for this but so so many wonderful delights in this fantastic little shop. We had the pleasure of meeting Peter Harper who was busying himself at the meat counter - what a fabulous guy and clearly so proud (and rightly so) of all he has achieved. Don't get this great place twisted, the serve to the likes of Harrods and Sandringham with half ton of sausages a week going out and 15,000 sausage rolls......this shop is King. Try the sausage rolls, they are absolutely divine. We also decided to stop for a coffee and Lemon Drizzle and Ginger Cake......honestly, wow. All the products are just complete quality. Do give this wonderful shop a try, it is very very good and we will definitely be back regularly.
