Rajgate in Central Bedfordshire

Not very busy but it was midweek. Very attentive staff. Food was ordered and served in good time. Nice menu choices. Will return again - was here on a recommendation.

Oh dear, drinks nice and quick,,, poppadoms nice and quick, 1hr 15 for starters,very poor presentation tasted ok,then had to go ask for drinks,after another 1hr 30 min food arrivedHad to send mine back tasted alright ,was cold and in a cold bowl, everybody in a restaurant look pretty upset,

Booked a table for a birthday evening. As soon as we got there was offered drinks which was nice. Sat by the door and as it’s the winter months the cold draft kept coming in as there was no closer on the door which gave us a chill. The food took an hour to come out was stone cold or a meant to be spicy dish had no spice at all or was bland. Will not return.

Really nice place been here loads of times always have a good meal, and always getted looked after well, busy night tonight so service was a little slower but other than that great 👍

Food cold and they seemed to struggle with a booked in advance table of 7 will not be going back and they gave us the bill before clearing the tableAlso please fix you entrance door closer every time someone went out the door stayed open which is not good in mid January

Pretty disappointing experience. We turned up looking for a fairly large table and were met by miserable staff who acted like they didn't want to be there. Once we were eventually seated the service was slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty. The food itself was ok but I've had better from other local venues.

Extremely poor service. Waited over an hour for our starters whilst at least 10 takeaways were handed out, they were obviously prioritising takeaway.After 30 mins we complained but it was only after we threatened to leave that we were served.Another large group also threatened to leave.

Child size portions for top end prices!I have been eating here for over 20 years and it has always been my favorite curry house for the duration, however something has changed.For 2 adults we ordered 2 rices, 2 mains, a side and naan breads.It served 2 child size portions!I recommended Raj Gate and I was embarrassed!Let me add I do not eat large portions nor do I complain much, however I feel I need to share my recent experience.I polity called the manager to discuss my concern who were totally dismissive and actually cut me off.My feeling is that it is new management doing well from the legacy of the Raj Gate I rated so highly for so many years.

We are local and second time eating here. This time a takeaway. Very poor.Onion bahjis so greasy they could be squeezed to drain them off and where inedible. Chicken biryani mediocre at best. Vegetable curry does not taste nice at all as tastes like vinegar with a slop consistency. Plain rice was undercooked. Miserable staff on. Second try here a year on and I’m reminded why it was bad before. 💩

Fantastic food service is very attentive as there was a very large group of us. This was our third of even forth. Oh who cares just go and enjoy.
