After visiting quite a few times when local last year and enjoying good food. We decided to have lunch today. I’m afraid to say it did not compare, £30 for sharing platter which was both poor portion size and poor quality. When we spoke to a manager, we had a curt response regarding pricing but nothing else. (over charged initially). Sorry to say that we will not be returning and will look for somewhere who appreciates the custom and is better value for money.

We went here for a meal last night. Didn't realise it was pie night but a nice surprise. We wouldn't normally pick a pie from the menu but they were really good. The cost was reasonable £14 for main and £6 for pudding (definitely worth making room for a pudding). The waiting staff were really friendly and attentive. Definitely be back. A lovely find l.

My daughter had her wedding reception here on 22/1/22 and had the worst experience. There wasn’t enough food to feed half of the guests and when I went up to complain to the manager he said that was it after paying them £500 which I was told was enough to feed 40 people. He called in the hotel manager to come talk to us and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more unprofessional uncaring individual in my life. She argued that the £500 only cover for 25 guests when I’d paid for 40 and argued that I was lying when I have the email confirmation to prove it. No comprise or going above and beyond and the customers always right policy here! In fact she told me that if we didn’t like it we could leave! That is no way to talk to paying customers and a bridal party. I had to pay an extra £100 for a couple of bowls of chips and some sandwiches. Are guests had traveled far for this wedding and had booked into the hotel for 2 nights, a lot of drinking was done and I have no doubt they made more money that weekend than they have for the past 12 months. The bedrooms are very outdated and quite frankly dirty from what I could see from using one to get my daughter out of her dress. Will never again step foot in the place. Absolutely appalling service. And I strongly advise the owner take a course to improve her customer service skills.

I was told when i arrived no resturant no bar due to covid. The lady on duty when I arrived was wonderful. I was tired and rude. No excuses. Breakfast was great.Would stay again but feel I should have been informed as I booked because of facilities.

Where do i start from the photo of outside it looks a lovely place ,but i was wrong ,the hotel is like going back in time ,very tired ,deco is old ,the rooms are tired and need an update ,don't get room 2 as its on the back of the kitchen ,all you hear is people talking and shouting, it eventually stops about 12 pm at night .bathroom was dirty ,lights in room not working ,but did sort out. Evening meal was disappointing especially for the price. Breakfast was bad ,no continental, or fresh fruit, cereals, just fryed ,eggs Benedict and so on.

Had to cancel my room in December while I waited for a PCR, was full of cold actually and didn’t want to travel. The reason for going was to celebrate a friends birthday nearby who is very Ill with cancer. Hotel knew this, a month later I’ve asked if I could have a voucher for a stay later as they’ve not contacted me at all. No. Despite the circumstances. Poor show I think. Such a sympathetic reply. Clearly never heard of goodwill gestures or compassion? You’re just looking worse to potential guests. Think you need to take note of the amount of bad reviews and take action!

Rooms are okay and the service is great. If you can have a breakfast in the morning, definitely do it. Really loved it.

Bedroom was so warm, double bed was two beds pushed together and not the most comfortable I've slept on. No milk for tea and coffee next morning. But the welcome was warm and friendly , facilities were ok and the breakfast was really nice. Manager was polite and professional and knowledgeable about the area. So worth the money apart from the bed.

Took my mother and 2 of my children for food. The child's portion of Macaroni Cheese which costs £7 is tiny. Its literally a handful that left a 7 year old still very hungry. The Xmas turkey was thin sandwich like slices and not freshly carved. Massively under whelmed and disappointed. Shame as last time we went I really enjoyed it. When I complained about the mac and cheese the waiter said, I know it is small that's the potion the chef serves though and didn't take it off the bill.
