The Blackbirds in Central Bedfordshire

A lovely visit for my mum's birthday. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Food was fantastic, menu had lots of variety and was good value for money. A nice meal , nice staff and a very enjoyable evening. Thank you, will definitely return and recommend.

Nice food and pleasant service. Harvester has got expensive recently and not just because of Covid. Very few deals available these days, so not such good value for money as they used to be. The salad bar is still a nice touch that very few competitors offer, however disappointing that it's still not self service.

Harvester Restaurant. Went there for a family birthday. I ordered a sirloin steak. Steak was very poor, lots of gristle in the cut. Otherwise cooked ok and the half that was edible was very nice. Was very busy for 5.30 dinner time. It's a Harvester, you get what you expect. Other meals such as chicken etc were fine.

Just had a really good meal here. It was busy, but the service was fantastic, and the food was really good. I must make special mention of our waitress, Sarah, who gave us the best service we've had anywhere in many, many years. She's an absolute gem; every restaurant needs a Sarah! Good atmosphere, good value. Will definitely return.

Really friendly staff. The lady that looked after us I believe her name was Karen, was brilliant, great with the kids, dealt with my allergy really well, recommended items to us. Always a good experience when we visit, but she is the best waitress we have had :) The staff are handling the covid situation really well, I saw some people go to help themselves to the salad bar and staff members had to stop them. Some customers were really rude about it but i think the staff members handled it really well. Thank you for a great experience :)

Visited last night to celebrate a child's birthday. Very impressed by Sarah & the team. Sarah made us feel extremely welcome and attended to all our requirements promptly ! The food was lovely, fresh & well cooked. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff even helped with the chorus of " Happy Birthday " when the cake was delivered. We all had a fantastic night and look forward to a future visit !

Visited harvester for lunch. Overall a good experience, seating is lovely and spacious, menu has a lot to choose from, Nikki the waitress was exceptional if I could rate her I would give her a 5 star. Now down to the food, all in all the food was average, starters were great and came out quickly... the main had cold onion rings, cold peas, dry steak however chips were hot and tasty. Salad bar was good the staff do their best serving each person that wants a salad or rolls. The desert was a let down, we ordered Eaton mess it looked lovely when we got it then within a minute it all melted and turned to milkshake not sure if it stayed in the kitchen too long. Saying that we would return to harvester perhaps to try something different on the menu.

Better than the last time I came here. Waitress was great as was the food. Just don't understand why we can't do our own salad as it's annoying for both the customers and the staff, but we can go and do the drinks ourselves.

Had a lovely Christmas Eve lunch with friends as a good mid-way meeting point. Tables clean and well spaced-out but surprised no staff wearing masks - I thought only those seated and eating/drinking are exempt but maybe I’ve misunderstood? Food nice - could be better presented but tasted good and catered for allergies. Our server Beth was especially fab. Would definitely visit again thank you.
