We had a family lunch for 5 of us. Even though it was during the bank Holiday weekend, the service was amazing. We were seated and greated promptly, the drinks came out quickly, food was so good and the new upgrades to the outside seating area just made it feel that more cosy. Would like to thank Mark, Charles and the rest of the team for an outstanding evening. Couldn't recommend more.

Website says food is served until 2130, but when I went to the bar to order a £22 steak at 2045 I was told “chef would not be happy” and so I couldn’t order a main course. Too late to go elsewhere so I went hungry. Terrible customer service. Sounds like chef is cashing in, getting paid for 45 minutes every day after he’s gone home. Duty manager was made aware of the times listed in the website and simply shrugged his shoulders. Won’t be returning.

Lovely location by the Grand Union Canal with excellent menu and great choice of beers. We were there late afternoon / early evening on a sunny Sunday and the staff had difficulty coping with clearing tables (may have coincided with a shift change) but, other than that, the service was very good. Looking forward to visiting The Grove Lock again soon.

Not the best meal I've had here. 1 waiter for a table of 6 meant that by the time the mustard/mayo etc arrived the food was getting cold. Sweetcorn fritters not as nice as we remembered. It is usually better so I will return.

Came in without a booking for a Sunday roast after being turned away from other pubs. There were no problems finding us a table, service was excellent and the roast was delicious. Definitely recommend

First ever time having visited this pub was a brilliant choice for what its worth I would say yes food quality was absolutely unreal like I had ordered a starter Crispy squid was absolutely unreal and Hummus to share which was a great start and then for mains I ordered Fullers Battered fish and chips and wow for what you pay its worth it.My other friends had ordered pies and burgers etc.Friendly environment in the pub, Dog Friendly too as I seen someone who had their dog in the pub.The reason why I have given 4 stars is because the service was bit slow and disappointing, whether if its to do with staff shortage god knows but we had booked our table in advance.3 of the orders which were amended at the time of ordering were not made correctly *instead of Mash had asked for Chips*They immediately went and got chips for those individuals.I would definitely visit again to try other things off the menu.

A group of 10 of us had our Christmas dinner at the Grove last night and we couldn't have asked for more. Before our visit email communication was great, easy menu options, accommodated some random menu requests and allergies. On the day the pub itself is lovely, very clean and welcoming. Staff were happy, friendly with a good sense of humour. All of our food options were delicious... I think the beef won first prize! Thanks to all the staff for a great night out!

It has taken 24 hours and a home cooked meal before writing this review. We had booked a 5pm table for 5, we had been to The Grove lock within the last few months so we knew the setting was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful. Comments worthy of more stars???? Sadly NO! The menu viewed online was misleading, the lasagna had doubled in price from £7.50 on the website to nearly £15 in the restaurant, I asked why double the price and was told that it was double the size, the £7.50 lasagna was surely a toddler size then???? It was an OK lasagna but not £15 worth. I contemplated the desert but once I saw the tiny £5 brownie bite portion I thought I had best just get desert back at home. The food price, portion size and quality is what dragged the star rating down to 2. We will not be returning.

Really nice place. Lovely outside seating area and interior is lovely and characterful. Ample parking and generic pricing along with a generic drinks offering. Sandwiches are great and service is quick. Recommended.
