The Knife & Cleaver in Central Bedfordshire

As a little birthday treat I had the fillet steak. On a large crouton topped with pate. Served with baby stem broccoli and fondant potato. Quite simply, the best steak I've ever had!!!!! It was faultless!

the last few times i have come here the food was beautiful, but this time, the food was freezing, the cauliflower cheese was sour and once we complained we were told there was something wrong with it and it even had to be thrown away!! the meat was dry, the taste of the brownie was all i can describe as sandpaper like, and we waited 20+ minutes for a table we had booked beforehand!! and the table next to us also complained about the same things so we weren’t alone in our thoughts, absolutely disgraceful, the management talked to the staff like absolute rubbish i felt absolutely horrible for the staff, the young girl who served us was absolutely amazing so i cannot fault her.

The food and service was very good! I would definitely go again and recommend. The food was a little slow to come hence not giving 5 stars.

Went for lunch today. Not too busy, welcomed by friendly welcoming staff, quick service. Food was really good.

The staff are very efficient and service was excellent. We were a bit disappointed by some of the missing items on the menu (mussels, banana parfait etc) as these were one of the reasons we booked. The salmon had burnt skin and had a bit of a swim in the Parsley sauce. For the £21 I paid for the duck dish it would have been nice to have a duck breast and not just 2 thick slices, which, when put together looked like I'd been served a half portion. However, the menu is original and I know they've had some supply issues of late. Would recommend eating here but ring ahead if you're after a specific dish!

This place has great staff always smiling and nothing is to much trouble. Unfortunately whoever is ordering stock is holding the pub/restaurant back always running out of basics 😒 thanks for your reply. Can you explain why you seem to have an issue with your supplier most weeks the truth is you just don't seem to order enough. May I say that your team is a credit to the knife and cleaver.

The food was exceptional and service top class. Couldn't get a booking over December but what a great meal tonight . Absolutely lovely

Our family of 5 ate a wonderful Sunday roast today. The prawn and chorizo starter was sublime. The trio of meats were lovely cuts. The staff were friendly and polite. Our server Ella was very polite, helpful and checked on us regularly. Will definitely come again. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

Visited today for Sunday lunch and was very impressed!!We received a warm, friendly welcome and the team were attentive and professional throughout our visit.The Sunday menu was very good - a nice selection of starters, mains and desserts.Some swede soup to start - which sounded strange but was absolutely delicious. Then the three of us chose the Sunday roasts - beef, turkey and lamb - great size portions, well cooked and again delicious. Rice pudding finished off the meal - a childhood favourite!!Just under £100.00 for 1 starter, 3 mains, 2 desserts and a selection of drinks - which we felt was good value for what we'd had.All in all, we had a great experience and will definately be back soon.
