We were talking amongst our group about how the garlic bread didn't have any garlic bread on it, and one of the waitresses shouted at us about how they use garlic butter aggressively. Which put us on edge, we were going to pay, they refused payment and made it difficult for us to leave, then a manageress pushed my partner off the property for our complaints.

Lunch at The Prince of Wales in Ampthill was really good as usual. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly, helpful and efficient staff. A must go to place

Came In for a spot of lunch with some friends, the other day, the quality of the meat was fantastic all the produce is sourced from the local town butchers so supporting local businesses is a plus. The atmosphere and service was second to none I couldn’t fault it at all the menu looked fantastic and the food we received tasted great. We would defiantly be back.

Just wasn’t what I was expecting unfortunately. All our mains (two burgers, one chicken burger and sausage and mash) were just about adequate for us not to complain but overall it was all very bland and dry, lacked sauce or flavour. But then we has dessert and it was just a not as expected. All of the desserts were microwaved regardless of what it was, I mean they microwaved a shortbread with caramel which made it a plate of butter. We were not asked during our meal if we wanted more drinks which someone in party did and just overall was a bit of an average experience. Sorry wouldn’t recommend definitely better places nearby.

Went into the Prince of Wales for a quiet drink with my daughter... was served a very nice glass of Merlot. Its clear that the new owner knows his wine as its quality was excellent.I noticed at the bar an interesting Bedford brewed ale ..Will try next time. Worth a visit and good to support local pubs ..the tiered pub garden will smash this season

Thank you so much for squeezing us in for an amazing Sunday lunch. We had taken my 6 year old nephew to the nearby country park at the last minute and it was absolutely freezing outside. We hadn't booked and were so relieved to be seated with a warm welcome. Large merlot and delicious lamb for me to warm up and an excellent children's menu. Great puds too, chocolate brownie to die for!The waiting staff were really child friendly, chatting about his Happy Families cards as he played. We didn't feel rushed at all even though the table was reserved for later.Huge thanks again to a great team and next time will definitely book a table!
