Great service and food. Good assistant manager with a friendly smiley face. Good Value for money and quaint little pub.

I think if we had gone on any other night it would have been 5⭐️ but we went on a Monday evening and there was a quiz night on. On arrival the waitress said that I should have been informed at booking but I wasn't. The speakers were so loud that I couldn't here my friend sat next to me (this is not a joke) and we had to stop our conversation and wait. Our meal out was with friends that we hadn't seen for 3yrs due to covid so as you can imagine we had a lot of catching up to do. We did ask to be moved but were told we would have the same problem where ever we sat. Apart from this the food was amazing and the staff friendly. So I would go back just not on a Monday

The best pub food and very friendly staff, is my preferred pub to go for a pint or a tasty dinner

Visited the Star at Chalton for an early evening meal before travelling back to Dorset. Four of us and we were all very pleasantly surprised at the standard of the food…all meals were cooked to perfection including a burger meal , hunters chicken, a rump steak and my risotto with salmon as an addition..it was the best cooked salmon that I have received in any restaurant, including fine dining restaurants..well done chef!!….the restaurant was understaffed but the waitress kept us informed of timings and is was amazing everything was so perfect. Thoroughly recommend.

Visited The Star tonight to celebrate my sons birthday. What a disaster! Waited almost an hour for starters & then were waiting another 30 mins for mains before we decided to leave. Another table close to us were also complaining about the slow service. Felt sorry for the few staff on duty. Would not go to The Star again.

Lovely place to go out for a meal, nice atmosphere, great staff -- warm & friendly, great food.I had the scampi, it was served just as it should golden brown & crispy not like the Weather spoon in Luton town -- the scampi came burnt & oily & the staff were not all that either --- take a leaf out of the STAR Weather spoon!!!!

Oh dear where do I start..Ordered simple main meals for 4 diners. Meal took 40 mins to arrive and the pub was not full at 17:00 on Saturday. When it did the chips were lukewarm, so they were replaced only to then find the scampi was barely warm. The waiter said he could keep the chips warm under a light and redo the scampi. Which meant 2 diners would have to wait again. Eventually two meals were removed from the bill but the whole experience for the family was ruined. Then only to find out the disabled loos were out of service and the gents had all urinals out of action with only one cubicle - which is really not good enough. Therefore we would going back to The Star for many years!

Great pub, staff very friendly. Highly recommend the food and Guinness.

The Star is a lovely place to stop for a meal and some drinks. The wait staff are really friendly and helpful. The place wasn't busy and had a nice atmosphere. The food came out hot and cooked perfectly! I would definitely recommend The Star for lunch, dinner or just a drink if passing by. Will definitely be returning again.

Went to the tribute bands music event. Fantastic event on a glorious sunny day. Six great acts and raising money for charity too. Vicki and her team organised the day well. We had some great food despite the kitchen having to close due to a malfunction it was a great day. We’ll done. Back again tonight.
