The White Lion in Central Bedfordshire

I'd heard mixed reviews about this place, so wasn't sure what it would be like. We went for lunch and it was definitely worth the visit. The food was great, fresh, tasty and a good portion size and the service was excellent with friendly helpful staff. I'd definitely go again

Definitely an above average restaurant. I had calves liver that was done to perfection with fresh veg and a super gin and tonic. Very helpful and attentive staff. Nice decor inside. A delight to find.

Another great lunch here. The staff are brilliant the food is faultless and we are always made to feel so welcome. The fact that my mum gets a big hug when she comes in always makes her day. Thank you for looking after us.

Gorgeous, very well cook food, good portion sizes, great service and good prices. We will definitely return here often! Beautiful!

I had a King Prawn Risotto and it was absolutely fabulous. Some of the others had Mushroom and cream pasta which they said they had on a previous visit and on both occassions it was excellent. Tiramisu for desserts all round. Friendly and not pushy staff. Service excellent we will be back agsin soon. Thank you.

Been a long time since I have been here. Seems to be under new ownership. Great menu with a wide choice. Good service too.Opted for soup of the day (potato and leek) and tuna steak for the main. Lots of space for large groups. Recommended. (PS. Don't forget to record your car registration if using their car park).

Upon arrival we had to give management our car registration even though parking is free and not monitored.I had two toddlers with me which required high chairs. The first high chair was a wooden high chair which had no safety straps. The second high chair for the second toddler had straps but inadequate as couldn’t fasten them up.My toddlers were given menus to play with to keep entertained. Staff tried to remove the menus for no apparent reason on more than one occasion.Further the food of starters and mains were salty throughout.The starters were all very bland.Mains of roasts dinners again was salty as well vegetables weren’t cooked or cooked but soggy.I also witnessed a staff member push another staff member out the way for not moving quick enough.After the starters I was questioned if I was finished or not a few times as the plate wasn’t cleared.Further upon gathering our things before leaving we were scurried away. I had a high chair pulled out from under me.I was not only not impressed with the service but also disappointed with the food.Previous management were fantastic as well as food being fantastic.I will not be returning nor recommending.

Really lovely festive meal with friends. Veg were really fresh and all food was very tasty would recommend the prawn chilli and ginger starter, really good. I am dairy free and arrived with a nearly three year old and a baby. They accommodated my dietary needs and provided alternative crockery for my little one. Would recommend.

We held our gender reveal party here. The staff were incredible and looked after all our family and friends amazingly. The food was lovely. They let us have a whole area to ourselves which is up a few steps and separate from the rest of the pub. And let us decorate how we pleased. The out door section is lovely and would be great for summertime but worked for our smoking guests as there’s plenty of undercover areas (we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoors too much due to it being November and freezing!) there’s tons of parking and a fuel station on the same road which was handy for our travelling guests. Not a single bad thing to say about the place or people. They were also so good helping tidy up (even after the kids had discovered confetti poppers - sorry again!) They helped make our day very special and we’ll be back very soon! Would give 10 stars if possible!
