Afternoon tea anyone? I visited for birthday celebration and the welcome, service, and food were all first class. Great sarnies and almost endless cakes certainly hit the spot!

I had a lovely lunch af the restaurant with a friend. The food was delicious and the service was extremely good. I loved the way the tables were nicely spaced out and dressed with fresh flowers. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would definitely go back. X

Can not recommend Bartellas more.We celebrated my nans 90th birthday with the hotel in 2020 and have returned to the restaurant again this year for a family dinner. The staff can not do any more for us. They are so willing to help and want to go the extra mile.We have some dietary requirements, all the staff are so knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to swap out items if required.Knowing it was my nans birthday they decorated a plate wishing her a happy birthday with homemade truffles for everyone. Such a lovely gesture! Thank you Bartellas.Only down side, there wasn't a table large enough for 13 people so we had to split up on 2 tables, not the biggest problem as after we had eaten with all squished around 1, but would have been nice to all sit together.

I have just celebrated a friend’s birthday with a delicious afternoon tea at this lovely restaurant. The venue was gorgeous, staff perfect, and the food delicious and plentiful. What a relief to have staff masked up and the tables set a good distance apart. Lovely to see management respectful of the safety of their customers and their own staff. It’s been a long time since I went out and relaxed this much. I will certainly visit again, and again. I highly recommend Bartellas in Chelmsford.

I booked bartellas as a birthday surprise for my partner. He was definitely not disappointed!! I booked a dome outside which cost £20 extra but was very romantic and very special. The food was amazing, one of the best steaks I've had and all of the staff were absolutely lovely, funny, friendly and helpful.

My partner booked dinner in the dome for me as a surprise lastnight and it was such a romantic environment the food and service was the best I’ve had in a long time . The staff are so polite and show 5 star customer service. Would defiantly recommend.

Fabulous meal in this lovely setting. We hired one of the domes and it was a lovely experience. Service and food were exceptional, we were very well looked after by Lorna who was very friendly and helpful.Reasonably priced cocktails too.We will definitely return and recommend

Stayed in the hotel for one night due to working away from home and ate here for dinner. The food is the best I've had working away from home. Pork belly melt in your mouth delicious and the gingerbread cake was to die for! Excellent friendly efficient service, would highly recommend eating whether staying in the hotel or not.

If you want outstanding amazing food then this is the place to go. We went for lunch big portions and all local sourced and freshly cooked. Staff were perfect and service was brilliant. Can't wait to go back
