Caffe Nero in Chelmsford

Great coffee, friendly baristas, fantastic old building - there's plenty of seating and it's a great space to tuck yourself away and work/read a book.

Great coffee, but this place desperately needs a refurb - dirty, dingy and furniture falling apart. Probably won't be coming back here until they sort that out.

The site is looking a little tired now and could do with some redecoration. However the staff are friendly, polite, helpful and I like the venue

Really like this place - nice and relaxing compared to competitors in town so good if you want a quiet coffee. Batistas always friendly and provide a good service at a nice pace!

They know how to do coffee. Right temperature and strength, machine tastes clean, no bitter residue.

Nice coffee and staff were pleasant. Limited selection of cakes though.

Yesterday had a large hot chocolate with oat milk and my daughter a chai latte. Both great. Nero’s hot chocolate in my opinion is far superior to Costa or Starbucks. Not too sweet and not artificial cocoa. Staff friendly and a lovely building. Other reviews say it could do with refurbishing and yes maybe it could but it’s got some charm and cozy and seats comfortable. And we chatted to a lovely 84 yr old gentleman who is clearly a Nero fan and regular there.

Nice coffee but this place needs a deep clean. It's filthy. Surprised they have 5* hygiene rating.

Sometimes busy but service is great drink is great and a lovely atmosphere. Sometimes I think the cafe could have more staff on to offer the already hard working staff there but I guess that is typical of most companies.

Coffee always best quality. Great sitting outside people watching.
