Fancy Fry in Chelmsford

Had horrific food poisoning from Friday 15th of April from only 1 portion of chips, definitely not changing their oil in the deep fryer or something, also heard from my friend who used to work there how dirty their equipment is. Needs to update it’s hygiene routine 🤣

Delicious hot chocolates and comfortable seating. The staff were so friendly, helpful and patient.

Great place but if they know you’re drunk they’ll charge you so much money for food and take advantage

One Star based on price alone really, and the fact that they attempt to charge more than prices advertised, expecting people to be drunk and not realise. Fish n chips cost £7.30 but they would attempt to charge more than advertised and then slyly grin when you point out the correct price. Anyway walked in the night before this post to find out price had risen to £9+, i think was £9.40, walked out without buying.To be fair quality was nice enough, though it was freshly cooked so you would expect that, never tried the tired looking stuff that had been sitting there for hours.

Not had Sav n Chips since I was a kid. I bit into a semi warm and crusted line on it. The chips were fresh and hot but you could taste fish on them. I wish I had taken them back and complained. Over priced too

Unfortunately I can't put zero possibly the worst sausage I've ever tried litrallly tasted like it was a month out of date before it was cooked the chips wasn't much better , shop smelt like a homeless shelter should have listened to my gut and gone somewhere else .

Food arrived cold chicken was so overcooked it's ridiculous When I phoned they were rude and didn't want to know disgusting customer service and disgusting food.I would not recommend this place and I will not be ordering from them again

Went in for a takeaway lunch. Staff that took my order didn't ask if I wanted it wrapped or open. Just put it on the counter aggressively open. Food was 5/10. Will probably not go back.

Turned up and mentioned kebab in passing to my husband as was planning on going down the road and they proceeded to explain they could make kebabs even though they weren't on the menu. 2 chicken kebabs, 2 chips - £19 and a horrific bout of food poisoning later. I can honestly say never eat here.
